Do you have a outline template for an essay that I could use? ie. thesis statement w/ bullets and a page for working references.  (I am not even sure how this would look)

 Thanks April!

I am writing a 5 page argumentative essay (for a humanities class).

I don't usually use an outline to get me started, but this essay is proving more difficult.  I am having a hard time narrowing the topic (religion and science in america) and developing a thesis.  Right now, I am focusing on the conflict between evolution and intelligent design.  my (working) thesis is that "religion and science employ different methodology and therefore, cannot be reconciled - nor should they be".  ie. science uses the scientific method, which by definition needs to be falsefiable and modificable.  Religion, on the other hand, relies on faith.  the problem I am running up against (of course) is that intelligent design argues that they are not religion but science.  However, the search for an "intelligent designer" would seem to imply supernatural forces - which science is not equipped to examine.

oh...i am so lost.

I used to send people there when I worked at my university's writing center, if they needed more help than our site offered. Good stuff!
