Has anyone tried this? How was it with the injections?

Thoughts about it?

I talked to a friend of my best friend at her baby shower and she was doing this. Honestly, I could NOT get over the fact that someone would willingly inject pregnant woman's pee into them to try and lose weight.

I just cannot wrap my head around it and I Just feel like there has got to be a better way to lose weight. As hard as it is I just don't see how changing your nutrition/exercising habits would not be preferred to this method.

Could this be the way to make the extra money I was looking to make?!   YIPPEE!! giggle.gif

I agree that it just seems way too extreme.  And what happens when you stop taking the injections?  Also, the very very quick google search I just did on this said you have to cut down to 500 calories a day?  I just can't see how this could be healthy- physically or emotionally.

hmm, don't know. From what I talked to that girl - in HER case - it didn't seem like it was.

I know! We were talking about it at her baby shower and she was like, "shoot, I'll give you my pee and charge you HALF what you're paying!"

Di - I just saw that too about the 500 calories a day. I would definitely avoid any "diet" where you are only consuing 500 calories a day. Not a good idea, at.all.

There is a wellness center very close to me and I am considering doing it. Someone I know just started the program 2 days ago, I'm curious to see how she does before I decide whether or not to do it.

And i just asked her about the source of the hcg she was prescribed (by an MD) and in her case it is synthetic.

I'm less worried about the pee than I am the calorie intake, which is a little disturbing to me.

If I could cut down to 500 calories without getting insanely sick, and detrimentally increasing the chances of me going on a homicidal rage, I wouldn't even need the pee.

That said, I'll be interested in hearing about it if you do it.

Chele, one of my friends has been doing hcg since April and has lost 70 pounds. The purpose of the hcg is that it curbs your appetite, and makes your body burn the fat you already have stored. Yes it is a 500 calorie diet but because of the hcg you are not hungry as long as you get the hcg in a good dose range. My friend has not been going constant since April, they do it in rounds of 21 days or so. During off time, they exercise and keep to more of a I guess you could say healthy diet, she has not gained more then I believe 5 pounds in an off period. I do not think it is for everyone, some of my other friends have tried it and it is hard, I debated it for awhile but knew there was no way even if I wasn't hungry that I could get past the mental block of wanting junk food and such. It's not just a 500 calorie diet, it's a no sugar, no carb, not much of anything diet. Chicken, steak, some fish, certain veggies and fruits, water, black coffee, sugarless tea, and a few other items are what compose the list. Honestly I was extremely skeptical but after doing my own research and there are tons of excellent resources on the internet I thought I might be able to do it if I could get into it mentally. Also as far as I know it's not pregnant women's urine, I have never heard that, it's a synthetic version of the pregnancy hormone, basically what I took when I was getting pregnant with Bryson. That is the hormone that is secreted in a woman's urine when she is pregnant so maybe that's how it's made or why people might think that but i've never heard that. Also, the clinics that are doing this program are charging lots of money, if your seriously interested I would get involved in an hcg forum, my friend did and she purchases her own on the internet from a site that they have all used that they trust and it is way less expensive. It's extreme and because she's only been doing it since April I cannot say what the long term outcome will be you know? All I know is she looks fantastic, she's very happy, and I think if you did it and even lost 10 or so pounds it might jump start your weight loss and you could do something else. That was kind of what I was thinking when I was debating it was to do one round and if I lost 10 or 15 pounds try to just go with eating healthier and exercising after that round. People who are successful with the hcg, my friend and the people she interacts with on her forum say if you follow it exactly you can lose 1-3 pounds a day. Anyhow I hope that helps a little to have somewhat of a first hand story, I think you should do your own research and see how you feel. Good luck, I know what it's like to really want to change and I know how hard it is, i'm really struggling with my weight right now.
