Uses for a Rice Cooker
Permalink

I got a rice cooker today. It was $5.19. LOL I thought that I had heard that you can use them for for other things, but can't think of anything. But, it was the last one, and even if we only use it for rice, that'd be ok. Just wondering if anyone else uses a rice cooker and for what.

I bought some quinoa and on the package it said you can use it in a rice cooker.  I don't know, but wouldn't be surprised if the same was true for orzo and maybe lentils.

we have had one for years - we cook a lot of asian and use many different kinds of rice - thai glutinous, japanese sushi, chinese, indian etc.

it makes perfect rice every time.

we only cook rice in it.

I figured for the price, I had to get it. When DH saw it, he wanted to know what was wrong with it. I thought the same thing myself. LOL. I'm thinking it most be an old model or something, 'cause they had all the things by that brand on clearance. I also got a 3.5 quart crock pot too! Now I have to learn what to cook in it. I want to make stew in it now that the weather is finally cooling off here.
