I'm excited to see what happens at 1000. Super Guru? Board genius? Get a life, loser.
He is in his very early 70's and has smoked most of his life up until a couple of years ago so it's not like it's surprising. But it's heartbreaking. I am not ready to go through one of my parents being very sick and dying. It's so hard to think about it. Ugh. I know there is no set time but I just hope that when it comes it is not an excruciatingly long process, ya know. Ugh. I am just not even anywhere close to being ready to deal with something like this. :(
Today we went to a high school friend's and her husband's house for pumpkin carving with Colin. They are trying for babies. They'd be great parents. Before that we went to Target and Marshall's just 'cause. And I spent an hour in Wal-Mart WAITING to pick up ONE prescription that they then couldn't find. So it took another TEN minutes for them to find it. Argh. I get more disgruntled with that pharmacy each refill.
Then we stopped in to see DH's BFF and his wife's new baby. Then we went grocery shopping. It started off warm and is cold and freaking windy.
Last night- I went to see the real mom whose family the movie "A Haunting in Connecticut" was based off of. She spoke at UNCA, showed a documentary, and then took everyone on a ghost walk. My friends and I did not do the ghost walk. Then my friend who kidnapped me made sure it took a good two hours for me to come the 20 miles home so we could talk. It was awesome.
Tomorrow is church. I still have to bake the coffee cake and cupcakes for my Sunday School class and Colin's. AH! Well, I think I'll have to skip the cupcakes b/c I don't know where my muffin pan is. Ugh. After we promised Colin we'd take him to lunch. Then we need to hit up Wal-Mart for a few things.
I just took a swig of my root beer. It tastes funny. Yay for Topamax.
Kris - Sorry you're having trouble finding flu shots.
Morning, everyone!
We're not going to church this morning.
Mark has a snot fountain for a nose plus he slept really late (and so did Henry), then after Mark came into our bed this morning at 8-ish, I rubbed his back and he FELL BACK ASLEEP.
Unheard of.
So I know he feels blah.
We have a Fall Festival at church this afternoon so hopefully I can get him cleared up and feeling better by 4pm.
I'm hoping that my kids (especially Henry) refuse to wear costumes to the Fall Festival this afternoon.
My mom got Henry a Superman costume to match Mark, and Henry was okay with that.
He wore it to the Zoo Boo Friday evening.
It's just that Superman is a really juvenile costume for a 9-year-old.
Henry's friend Payton went with us Friday, and he was a scary alien.
Much more age appropriate.
So anyway--we didn't really know anyone at the zoo so it didn't matter but I don't want anyone around Henry's age to tease him at the Fall Festival this afternoon.
Maybe it won't matter since Henry refused to wear a costume to it last year.
Sonya I am with you on the cleaning today. I need to get it done. We may be putting up the Christmas tree a week from today. Yes, I know it's crazy, but the travel schedule it about to become horrific and dh works so much this time of year that I have to do it early.
We went to a wedding yesterday and E had a blast. She has a dress that is awesome for twirling and she danced and twirled. Our frends' daughter a year younger than E was there and they were dancing and playing. It was fun. Unfortunately in the middle of the night E woke up with a 103 fever. She still has one now, but it's not as high.
Kris the flu shot scenario sounds quite frustrating. I hope you get a break and find it faster.
Robin I hope Mark feels better. The festival sounds fun and I agree about the costumes.
