Today consists of laundry, piles and piles of laundry.
Tomorrow is church.
Kenneth's off doing some side work today at our pedi's house. He finished one project over there and they've hired him to do another.
We're so broke it isn't even funny. I'm trying not to stress about it, but it's hard not to.
I told Kenneth that the next time his daddy's running his mouth about Obama and how things are looking up, to remind him that during REPUBLICAN administration we paid off two cars, a trailer, bought two more cars, a house, land, portable building, etc...and now we're to the point that I've had to put groceries on a credit card. We've never, EVER had to do that.
its a yukky day here - drizzing with rain off and on. its nearly 6pm - i am stoked because espn europe is showing the minn-osu game as its "game of the week" (i think that decision was made assuming the buckeyes were still in contention and had not bombed last weeks game - but i'll take it LOL)
bert and i went this afternoon to test drive our new car - a 7 passenger VW van (boo- i hate huge cars!) then grocery shopping. he is downstairs cooking and i will join him once the game starts :)

what's he cooking?
total comfort food - bouchee a la reine.
he buys 2 chickens and a few veal chops on the bone - he boils them all in water for about 90 min with carrots, onions, leeks, garlic, peppercorns, salt etc.
once thats done, i get to remove the chicken and veal meat from the bones and chop it up while he does 2 things with the chicken stock:
first, he makes the cream sauce by making a roux (melted butter and flour) its like a white sauce, but instead of using milk, he uses the chicken stock. once that thickens, he adds heavy cream, some lemon juice and seasons it. we add back the deboned chopped meat and mushrooms that have been sauteed in butter.
also, he makes a rice pilau - an onion finely chopped in butter, then add long grain rice and stir a minute then add chicken stock and season - bring it to a boil, then put a lid on it and bake till rice is done.
this is served with puff pastries too! (oh, and the carrots that were in the chicken stock - those are saved and served with the meal - they are so tender, sweet, and full of chicken juice and dipping them in the cream sauce takes it to a whole different level!)

We're testing out the health club at the hotel 5 doors up. It is so expensive (~800 for the year for the family) but the pool is excellent - they have a 10 foot square wading pool (1 foot 8 inches deep) and the big pool is warm.
Plus treadmill, etc.
But that is super expensive and we can't really afford it now.
I don't know. It would be very convienent. Because of the small pool, I can take the kids myself.
Interesting. if the house sells, we'll do it.
Now I'm making dinner and mom is coming over. (Roast chicken).
Well, I am finally feeling like I might actually survive this sickness, LOL. I've been feeling so bad for so much longer than normal. I guess the meds are helping.
NVM - I had to edit some.
It's been a rough week. Tons of sickness, this just happened and yesterday we found out my Dad has pretty severe emphysema. :( Ugh. I'm kind of a mess.
