white american is much creamier to me than yellow.

it used to be hard to find outside of the east coast, but now i think you can find it pretty much everywhere.

also, where i live, when you order american at the deli counter, they automatically give you white unless you ask for yellow.  idt it's that way everywhere, right?

Here they ask you if you don't specify.  And if you order from the kiosk to pick up when you are done shopping, it asks it you want yellow or white.

IDT I have ever done a side by side tasting, but Bill says they are exactly the same. (but Bill eats pretty much anything, so IDK that his taste buds are supa picky, lmao)

omg. I TOTALLY DISAGREE!

i think next time you're at the grocery store, you need to order a 1/4 pound of yellow and 1/4 pound of white and do a blindfolded taste test on him!

lmao-I might have to do that!!  I really have no idea about the taste difference!! (and seriously-like I said, Bill will eat anything.  There have been times he will eat something leftover that is on the old side, then force me to take a bite because I don't believe him that it is still good, and I want to vomit.  Or he will say something smells fine when it clearly smells off-so he is wack.  Strong stomach though!!)

Ahh, cheese is a major staple food in Georgia and I have yet to find cheese here that tastes even close to Georgian cheese.  There are tons of varieties of cheese in Georgia too and they are sold in wheels in the market, not in tiny slices like here  :) so I miss cheese, the closest I can find is deli feta cheese so I buy that sometimes and I like provolone but that's about it...  not a fan of American cheese obviously smile

interesting - no we have it, but they do not automatically give it to you when you ask for American.

I will have to try it. I usually like a sharp cheese, so not sure if I will like it. I will give it a try. American is not my favorite by far.

I bet customs laughs when they inspect your suitcase :) I still love a hershey bar every now and then. I think you miss what you cannot have, ya know.

definitely a case of missing what i dont have!  after 20 years overseas i downright obsess about some stuff!

here is a funny one... last time i was back at my parents, i packed my 2 suitcases to the full 50 pound limit.  but i couldnt pack my 16 cans (4 4-packs) of cream of mushroom soup or my 2 squeeze bottles of welches grape jelly.  it was over 20 pounds, would have been an extra 70 bucks in oversize luggage charges.... so i went to the post office and for a bit over 30 bucks managed to stuff all that stuff in a priority size package.

i filled out the customs form and the mailman said "you are gonna spend 30 bucks to mail yourself campbells soup and grape jelly?"  i said yup with a smile and asked him if that is the craziest thing ever and he said no, he couldnt begin to tell me the craziest things he has seen shipped over the years.

I voted other. We don't usually buy American. If we do it is the singles kind (like KRAFT, but usually storebrand) and it is because we are making Grilled Cheese.

Normally we buy prepacked Deli cheese like Cheddar or Provolone.
