i had my surgery yesterday to get my mole removed. it was directly on one of my ab muscles (left side). i am in SO MUCH PAIN!!! holy sh*t!! i couldnt sleep all night. the procedure took 45 min, which was shocking bc both of my c-sections were quicker than that (even the non-emergency c!) - and the pain right now is INSANE. i have this huge bandage which is visible through clothes - i had no idea this was going to be such a production! i can take tylenol but that's it, and it's hard to even stand up straight - i'm moving sooo slowly - hopefully it's a bit better later today but holy cow this hurts. it's just in the worst spot ya know??
on tues i have two more biopsies on my back (i hope those are fine bc this procedure on my back? ug!!) and then these stitches out (i have internal dissolvable and about 8 externally) in 12 days and then another biospy. i cant wait for this to be over!! (though sadly i think this is just the way it's going to be for me - i have hundreds of moles!!)
meanwhile i am so anxious to see how my stomach looks without this huge black mole - i've had it for my.whole.life - even my mom remembers it as a baby - i cant even imagine what this scar is going to look like - not that i'm that worried - my bikini days are over - but that mole has been like suuuuuch a part of my body - so weird to think that it's not there anymore!!
I had one removed from my face (not a mole but a minor cancerous spot) and it did hurt like hell. I had a plastic surgeon do it so the scar wouldn't be bad (it is almost undetectible). I don't remember it lasting (pain) longer than a day.
I hope you feel better soon. I'm so glad you had it taken care of.
owwie, I hope the others are a sinch. I know you are in pain, but this is a good thing.
I just found a dermatologist and am making an apt this week.
good luck.
i was examining the ones on my back which are going to be biopsied on tues, and i have a feeling one is going to need a similar surgery (in my expert, hypochondriacal opinion - lmao). ouch. hope not.
my incision feels way better today - it's still a little tuggy and twingy and stingy, and last night i had to do the dreaded "pull the tape off and get it wet" thing (P.U.K.E.) - i'm still taking some tylenol, but in general, way better than yesterday.
Kelly I hope you are feeling better now. That must have been horrible to lay there while they did that. I finally made the appt for my mole check after putting it off all summer. Thanks for the reminder but sooooo sorry you have to go through all this.
