How big are they now?

ihni if we've done this recently and I'm too lazy to search. (sorry!)

Anyway, how big are your 2 year olds? Or 2.5, almost 3, whatever age. Owen is so much bigger than Gavin was and nearly the same size Gavin is now. I'm so worried he is going to catch up to him much sooner than I was hoping.

In his nursery class at church he looks like a total giant. I am serious - I had to double check he was in the right class.

Anyway, he is about 33 pounds, and I think about 36 or 37 inches tall. He wears 3T pants, 4T shirts and size 9 shoes. (Well, he is in 8's and I just realized they are too small! He barely wore some of these shoes!)

I honestly used to wonder if people were fudging the truth a bit when we did these types of threads with our 05ers but not no mo'. (And I know it's dumb that I would have thought that but I honestly couldn't fathom the size difference and it made me wonder.)

juni, i'm so confused by this!

jake is 2.5 - he weighs 33 pounds and is around 36".

he is pretty average in his class, wears 2T pants with the waist adjusted in A LOT (but they are starting to get short - i won't buy anymore in this size), and 2T or 3T shirts.

Dylan is 33 lbs too. I don't remember how tall, but he is definately bigger than Evan was this age.

People still comment on my twins.

Apies, I can't account for all differences, but I will say that Anna and our neighbor's daughter, Emma, are close to the same size. Virtually identical in height (both 42ish inches this summer), weights are a little different-Anna is about 41 or 42lbs and Emma is 47lbs. But because Anna has short legs and a long torso (and Emma's waist is a bit thicker), Anna can still wear 4T pants in some brands, whereas Emma has to wear 6s (even though they are too long) So I do think body makeup has something to do with the fit of clothes.

Anyway, Kate is about 31-33lbs and btwn 38 and 39" tall. She is measuring a 9 shoe right now on our home measuring doohickey.

She is tall for her age and gets a lot of comments about it from parents and the like. Anna's ballet instructor looked at me like I had 3 heads on the first day of dance class when she asked if Kate woud be joining them and I said she wasn't 3 yet. She towers over every girl in her class. BUT, there is a boy in her class who is about a month older than she is and he is taller than she is, so she isn't the tallest one in there or anything. Also, she is the oldest ofthe girls. There is another who is a December birthday and the twin girls in there are June birthdays, so I would expect her to be taller than they are.

Oh, in terms of clothes, she wears 4/4T tops and dresses, 4T leggings and pants in shorter/smaller brands and 3T in larger brands like Gymbo and Osh Kosh since they run long.

Weird. He does not fit into 2T shirts or pants AT all. He wears 3T and they are not cinched in at all. He wears 3T but the 4T tops fit better. Maybe Jake's whole class is big. LOL

Honestly, Owen is so much bigger than most kids I meet his same age. The other thing is Gavin is only 39 inches, and 34 pounds so the comparison kills it for us too. Gavin is in 4 slims for pants and 4/5 for tops so Owen is just barely smaller than him.

That is so weird though that Jake is similar in size but not in clothing. Are the kids in his class his same age?

yup!

he's in the 22-30 month class so the kids are all 2-2.5 or so.

and here, he seems tiny b/c emily is so big, but he really seems average at school.  idk.

Okay, Apies you got me curious so I measure him to see how tall he is and he is about 38" so maybe that makes the difference. :dunno

I checked an online calculator and 33 pounds at 28 months came up at 86 percentle and 38" came up as 93 percentile. Now I'm thoroughly confused, LOL.

That definitely makes a difference.  Kate is taller too-btwn 38 and 39 (I can't get her to stand still long enough to get an accurate read, lmao), and 2T pants are like crops on her.

Comparing the sizes, there isn't a HUGE difference in most sizes of the same brand when moving up, so I think that a couple of inches makes a big impact.

I just checked Gavin again. He is 41 inches now! This is somewhat recent because he wasn't 40" the last time I checked. My mom just asked me if he went through a growth spurt, I guess he did.

But he is definitely only around 34 pounds because I just weighed him a few days ago.

ETA: Gavin is definitely on the small side though even with those couple of inches.

This is Owen too. And with Gavin we had to tighten the waist all the way for them to fit him and I am taking out the cinch completely with Owen. I have a feeling Gavin won't be passing him 4 slims onto Owen - the kid has a buddha belly for sure.

Yeah-we were the opposite here!!  I never had to take much in for Anna, but the little pull tabs are so long they stick out of the pants with Kate!  A few pants, back in the smaller sizes when Anna was a real chub, were too stretched out for Kate to even wear them, lmao.

Anna still has plenty on Kate, but I am sure there will come a day when she catches up!!!  Shoe size will catch up sooner rather than later, I suspect, and then we will have to buy them different shoes so we can tell them apart.   And since Anna as such short legs, some pants work on both of them!

They do grow fast, don't they???  I swear, one minute they are one height and the next minute they are inches taller!!!

Gavin and Owen seem like Evan and Dylan. Ev is and has always been a string bean where a belt was in order, slim pants, cinch the buttons inside etc. Dylan, not so much. LOL.

Dylan wears 3T everything. Evan is still in 4T. Actually, they share most of their clothes.

Dude, Gavin doesn't usually grow at all so I figured he was the same size as his 4 year old well child! I'm glad I checked that makes me feel a teeny bit better. But honestly, they look practically the same size and Gavin is definitely the smallest kid in his preschool class. It just boggled my mind to have a child at the small end and then the opposite. So weird. And with Doug being so tall I never thought I'd have a kid that was so little! I'm sure he'll grow but still, I hope he's not a shrimp!

Totally! And I get the twin comments too but my kids do not like alike like yours do. Or at least the last time I saw a pic they did - we need some recent ones. ;)

They could share a lot of their clothes too but Gavin will not allow that. So, for now their closet is still split. :)

Josie is bitty.

She's around 24 lbs and, well, I have no idea how tall she is. Tiny.

I'm out of town but I'll measure her when I get home.

at 2 yrs (in aug), C was 33 and 3/4 in, and 24 lbs.
R was 25 lbs, 35.5 in.

so cara is like 2 in. shorter.
her feet are 6.5, and she's in a 2T though we have to roll the sleeves and waistbands.
she can still wear 18 mos in many clothes.
