1. In the supermarket, you send a dozen packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you walk away?

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson?

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there?

1.  No, I'd pick them up.
2.  I promise you, I'd never be in a boutique.  But, in walmart if I left lipstick (that I don't wear) on it...I'd probably leave and not say anything.  God that feels bad saying.
3.  Absolutely.

1. In the supermarket, you send a dozen packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you walk away? Nope.  Pick them all up.  How neatly I stack them depends on if Meghan is with me and she is cooperating.  LOL

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson? No way.  But my blood pressure would be through the roof!

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there?  Yes.  I don't own the store

1. In the supermarket, you send a dozen packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you walk away? I have, but only when I am in a HUGE rush and I HAVE to be somewhere.  otherwise, I clean up, or get someone if I knock something over that is breakable (and I have before, lmao-but only once)

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson? If the dress was white-yes, lol.  But if you couldn't tell, I doubt I would-unless I loved the dress and was going to buy it anyway.  terrible, I know.

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there? The first thing I would do is see if I could talk to my manager to price match or at least offer a discount.  Then I would say yes, if I couldn't make the deal myself, I would send them elsewhere.

nope. i would pick them up. (but i practically live at my grocery store, so i would never do anything to tick them off) :)

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson? no way jose.

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there?  no. you could lose your job over that--ever heard of a secret shopper?

wow. i am amazed that everyone except me answered yes to question 3. i guess i think it is jimmy's parents job to do their research when buying glasses and it is my job to promote my store (my store writes my check, not the competition). plus in the field i worked in before connor, we frequently had secret shoppers come pretend they were interested in apartments. a common thing they would do would be to mention a competitor up the street--if i ever said "oh ya those apartments are just as nice as ours and $300 less per month" my bags would have been packed for me. biggrin

I've done that before. disbelief I've done both (walked away and picked it up) I guess it depends on the situation.

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson?

Definately not. ashamed

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there?

Probably not. If they were really torn up over the cost (not just b!tching), I might tell my manager that they were asking for a price match to the other store.

1. In the supermarket, you send a dozen packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you walk away?  No. I'd set an example for the babies and pick it up.

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson? Heck no!

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there? Yes I'd send him to a competitor's store. Especially if they are half price.

1. In the supermarket, you send a dozen packages tumbling into the aisle. No one sees you. Do you walk away? No, I'd pick it up, unless it was glass and it broke, then I'd tell someone so it could be cleaned up.

2. You're in an exclusive boutique. While trying on clothes in the dressing room, you get lipstick on a designer dress. Do you inform the salesperson?  I wouldn't be in an exclusive boutique in the first place, and if I did go in, I would never try anything on.

3. You work for an optical store. Jimmy has broken his glasses and his parents are agonizing over the price of replacing them. A competitor is selling identical glasses for half-price. Do you send Jimmy's parents there? Yes, I would.  Which is why I could never work as a sales person.  My concience bothers me too much to try to force things on people who would be better off without them.
