Mark is chomping at the bit to frost the cakes.

I'll let him do one of them, and I'll let Henry do the other one later.

I have set the timer so he'll know when the cakes are cool enough to frost.

They are chocolate cakes.

We have cream cheese frosting.

Yum.

That is hands down my favorite kind of cake! I like devils food with cream cheese frosting. Yum... I wish I had some of that mix in my pantry, might be worth a trip to the store!

this week, I have TONS of crocheting I need to get done...I need to finish 2 afghans and a pillow. Hopefully I can make a good bit of progress on them. I'm also working on a baby sweater but somehow messed it and can't figure out where I goofed so that's put aside while I finish this other stuff...I have about 2 weeks to get those afghans and pillow done...if there is time, I need to get a yellow/white kichen cloth and potholder set done.

What else...the usual daily maintance of laundry and housework. And make a ped appt for Daniel for a shot before the school nurse has a stroke :eyeroll: even though his ped said he doesn't HAVE to have that particular one right this minute and that it CAN wait til his next scheduled appt in January.

Anywhoozers....loving this weather we're having. Oh yeah, I need to pull our my box of Halloween crap and see what needs to be replaced.

Pics when they're done?

I'm working on afghans and a pillow, too, but I don't have a time table for them.  I'm just using the yarn I bought for my birthday.  I've got the main body of one afghan done and I'm working on the back of the pillow.  I've got to finish that, do the body of the front, and get the main body of another afghan done before I can finish the stitching and borders on all three.  Then I've got yarn for another afghan.  I'm excited about that one.  It's a real pretty greenish blue.

Definately will put pics up smile

I want to see yours too...or you should get on ravelry biggrin

I'll definitely take pics.  I'm thinking of putting some of my things on Etsy to see how well they would sell there.  I was going to do a craft fair here next month but it's too much work and money with no guarantee I'll even sell anything.  The small fee on Etsy isn't so much of a risk.

So, I just read online about the swine flu deaths in children.  I've been kind of back and forth on the vaccine thing, mainly because it's brand new and that scares me.

Anyway, it said that 2/3 of the children that have died have had epilepsy, cerebral palsy, or other neurodevelopmental problems.

Um Hello??!!

So I called the school to talk to my friend, who's the nurse there.  She informed me that Presley's P.E. teacher is out right now because her son has the swine flu.  So, there's already a chance that Presley has been exposed, possibly.  I mean, I know the teacher hasn't sneezed or coughed on her, but I don't know about other kids.  Darlene told me that she'd keep a vigilant watch and that if it got to be too bad she'd call and I could just keep Presley home from school

no cry hmm

I've got a call into the PICU doctor that took care of Presley for so long.  I'm going to ask him what he advises on the vaccine.

Ugh, Jen.

How stressful.

I wonder how many of those kids were already 'sick'. Presley is so healthy, right?

I hope someone can give you some answers and comfort.

She is very healthy!  In fact, there are many, many times SG will get a cold, and Presley never even catches that.

Well, Mark frosted his cake--beautifully.

I did the solid white over the whole top, then he wrote "Mark" with LOTS of help in green with some added green decorations.

Then I mixed the remainder of the frosting to make purple, and he made flowers around the green decorations so they look like stems and leaves.

He requested a piece, took a bite, and then announced that he didn't like the black part or the frosting; he didn't like any of it.

Oh, well.

I had to try a piece to make sure it was okay.

It's not the most delicious cake ever (probably overdone a bit) but it was still good enough to eat.

See, that should be a good sign. I know it is silly to say don't worry but realistically, you can't protect them from everything and i really think it will be impossible to prevent them from being exposed to this flu.

I will say a prayer that she (and all of our kids) stay healthy.

Hi, April!

I'm at my parents' house.

Henry just finished his piano lesson, and it was obvious to his teacher that he only practiced a total of one hour this past week.

Then Henry left with my mom to go find a Halloween costume.

I'm kinda surprised that Henry even wants one but my mom did get Mark a cool Spiderman costume today so I'm sure that's why.

Henry will probably end up not wearing one if my mom buys him one.

Thanks Sonya.  I just have to keep on praying, for all of us
