I didn't get them from the manufacturer's website. I just googled them and went with the cheapest. $90 for two. I've really only used it once and liked it well enough. I don't have curly hair though. I have hair that used to be stick straight and now has weird waves since children.

seeing this, a bell kind of went off for me.  i had wanted a GHD flat iron for a while.  when i got it, i liked it ok but didn't love it as much as all the reviews did.  when i moved to europe, i had to get a new one because mine didn't work over here.  it was a fake.  the real ones are dual voltage and will work anywhere, which is the reason i got it in the first place.  when i got my new one it was SO much better because it was an actual GHD iron and not a knock-off.

i'm wondering, since you guys didn't order it from the manufacturer, if you may have gotten a knock-off.

 

ok, first to stacey - please don't say sorry!!! you just ordered it! i'm the one who wanted to try it and it's just not for me! i'm so glad you're liking yours!

to everyone else - i have REALLY curly hair. and it is really thick. what i was hoping was that it would straighten the bulk of my curl and therefore reduce the amount of time that i'm using the chi. but what i've found is that i have to chi all of my hair after using the instyler b/c i don't like how the instyler leaves my hair. it is too full and puffy.

plus, my curl starts at the root so i need to get close to my head. with the chi, i can literally touch my scalp (b/c the sides aren't hot), but with the instyler, the roller is hot so you can't put it against your head.

the instyler definitely might work for those of you with wavy hair - like stacey said - but for curls like mine it just doesn't cut it. not compared to a chi.

anyone want to buy mine?  i used it 3 times and i'll sell it for half of what i paid!!! :)

Hmmm Im wondering if it would work for me. I just have a slight wave but the chi sometimes makes my hair too straight.

But a 45 -90 dollar what if is huge for me at the moment. Maybe Ill wait for some more reviews from people here.

I never even heard of the instyler until I was lurking on here one day and saw the convo about it.  Of course, being the compulsive person I am, I had to have one immediately! ;)

In fact, I decided I needed it before Vegas so I bought it from a dealer on Amazon because after 2 days of research that was the only place I could find where it could be overnighted.

BEST DECISION EVA!!!!

Kristi, I had no idea you were interested in it.  I really wish you had of asked to try mine when we were in Vegas so you would know if you liked it or not.

Here's my take on the Instyler.....

I have medium naturally wavy hair.  It used to be as curly as April's but it changed once I had Nolan.  I super love the Chi, and I''ve even gotten pretty good at curling my hair with it, but as far as using it to just straighten my hair, it left it a little too straight and I didn't think it looked natural.  The Chi takes me a long time and it also makes me super hot (temperature wise ;) ) when I'm getting ready.

The Instyler however is amazing!!  My hair has never felt so soft and straight before.  Not only that, but when I wake up in the morning it's still as straight as it ever was when I went to bed (I have really bad night sweats and my hair is usually kinky again when I wake up in the mornings).

Another thing I like about it is not only is it straight but it gives it tons of body, so it's straight and full at the same time.  A much more natural look for me imo.

I haven't mastered curling with the Instyler yet.  I need to watch the video for that one, so I just use the Chi if I want to have curly hair.

If anyone plans on getting one, I highly suggest on watching the videos to see how they use it.  It makes it much easier to figure out.

Kristi, since you still want one, you should definitely buy April's from her.  My mom's hair is too short for it right now anyway.

oh, 1mt.  I did use it on Virgie's hair, who has very straight hair already and I didn't see a whole lot of difference.  I had better luck using the chi on her hair to put a few curls in it to give her some body.

oh, another good thing about the Instyler is that your hair doesn't have to be totally dry before you use it.  It can be used when your hair is still damp.

I know they make wet to dry chi's, but i don't have one of those so the Instyler is a huge time saver for me.
