I was visiting with my parents last night while Henry practiced the piano.
My mom kept telling my dad that I was going out of town with my kids, to Nashville.
My dad (who is just like me) pretended to be interested for a few minutes, then changed the subject.
I'm pretty certain my mom was hoping he'd be all concerned or try to talk me out of it or . . . I don't know, offer to go with me. :eyeroll:
I really don't get her sometimes.
She doesn't care for my argument that it is a good idea that I get used to traveling alone with my children since that's the only way we'll be traveling.
am i the only one who snaps sometimes over something that seems so ridiculous later?
emily spills her milk almost everyday at dinner and tonight i seriously lost it on her. i know, i know, it's just spilled milk, but i'm SO over it. it's b/c she keeps the cup RIGHT next to her even though i tell her every freakin day to put it at the top of her placemat so she doesn't spill it.
omg.
i was pissed about that and then she asked me 37 times in a row to watch pat pat (little einsteins) even though i kept telling her no over and over.
i seriously just stormed upstairs with her to her room.

ugh, i hate these moments.
Abso-freaking-lutely not.
I don't have any real advice, and tbh, I don't think you wanted or needed any, but holy crap do I ever understand.
So I'm trying something new. One of my bffs just had a baby. She found out during her pregnancy she was diagnosed with B12 deficiency. She's been taking B12 and she says she can't believe how her mood is different now that she's on the vitamin. She said things don't stress her and she's able to handle things a lot better.
I researched it a bit and a symptom of B12 deficiency is memory loss and irratibility.
I'm a terrible hypocondriach but even if i'm not b12 deficient, I'm starting to take this vitamin anyway. I am seriously lacking memory these days. It is like i have amnesia. And irritable? It's hard to differenciate between PMS days and not.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share what I'm up to. I'm hoping this is magic for me. lol
The work picnic we crashed this afternoon was fun but my kids overdid it and got pretty hot and tired.
They were both too scared to ride on a horse, but Kimberly and I each got a horseback ride.
My kids did get brave enough to pet the horses, and Mark stood close to me while I gave one of the horses a treat.
They both loved the moonbounce and the inflatable slide, as expected.
The kids and I ate hot dogs but I have to admit that we got to the picnic a good 90 minutes after it started, and I'm certain the dogs were at "dangerous, bacteria-producing temperatures".
And the flies. So many flies. All over the food table and the food.

Picnics should always be indoors. ;D
We seem to have all survived.
glen, is that you? how did you get robin's MS login?
i'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one who flies off the handle once in a while.
i will say that it's not often, but when my trigger gets flipped, look out.
and i guess tonight that was it.
if there's a funny part to this, when i came back down from sending emily to her room, jake was like "mom, look at me eat my mac n cheese!" all innocent and angelic so that he didn't cross the line too.

Nope, it's me.
Glen would never in a million years have eaten those hot dogs.
That means that I deposit all the ones that people put in the offering basket (and an occasional check), then I put the deposit slip into a zippered envelope.
I get statements all the time, and I stick those in a stack on my dresser.
I don't even open them.
Our S.S. class does write checks sometimes, mostly to the church.
I just gave Glen the whole stack of unopened statements, the checkbook, two check registers, and a bag of deposit slips and asked him to balance it.
