Morning!

Share the experience of your first period.

Fun question, huh?

It was summertime (although school had already started so August) when I was 13. I was playing in my backyard with my brother and some neighbors. I went inside to see if Happy Days was on TV yet and I went to the bathroom. I called my mom inside, and she got me some pads from her bathroom. Then I went to watch TV in the living room. My mom assumed that I stayed inside BECAUSE I had started my period, and I was annoyed with her for not listening to me.

It had completely stopped by the next morning so I thought, "That's not so bad." I went to school thinking my period was over, and it started back when I was in gym class that afternoon. Ugh. My friend let me use one of her pads, and she thought that I had just started my first period right then. She didn't believe me that it had started the night before and stopped.

I wonder why no one ever believed me. ??

oh gosh I was 14 soo I was a late bloomer and had been paranoid about not getting it forever. My parents were having the pastor and his wife over for dinner and my sister and I were supposed to be servers.

I started about an hour before they got there thank goodness. I would have been sooo embarassed otherwise.

Tracy - I'm glad you all survived the P.O. Did you go to ballet?

We decided to brave the park even though it's still really cloudy and dark and looks like MORE rain.

There were a few drops here and there but no real rain.

I asked a mom and son from Mark's preschool class.

I knew her very casually; I took her a meal right after she had Thomas--4 1/2 years ago and then just to say hi after that.

We had fun.

She was nice and we had a good talk while the boys played on the playground.

I got some ancient frozen pancakes out of the freezer and warmed them in the microwave to eat a few minutes ago.

They were hard as rocks so I threw them away.

Then I made myself some french toast.

Delicious.

We're having steak for dinner.

I remembered to marinate them just a few minutes ago.

We're out of Dale's marinade so I just melted butter over them and sprinkled some Mrs. Dash too.

I started my period shortly after I began fifth grade.  I was in denial and frankly pretty pizzed about it.  I really didn't want to be bothered with it.  I was not emotionally ready at all.  It also didn't help that I was shy, was the new kid at school, and had a terribly cruel male teacher that would question me why it was I needed to go to the bathroom.

Mark is all snuggled into a chair in the living room.

I asked if he wanted covers and put a blanket over him.

He didn't push it off.

I spoke too soon; he just walked in here with the blanket dragging behind him.

I was hoping for an afternoon cat nap so I could concentrate on Henry and his homework.

And I thought I had it bad.  That would have sucked.

I was in 6th grade and was in denial that it would ever happen for me.  I just didn't want to ever have to deal with it.  But I was the first one in my grade to start.  I was 11.  At least I had it better than Rebecca who was 9 and, if she had been attending public school, would have only been in 3rd grade.  Shudder.

I got mine the summer I was 13.

I don't remember much past going to the bathroom and there was blood. I freak out thinking I'm dying. My brother hears me bellowing so he gets my mom. And she laughs and laughs at me b/c I'm freaking out over this.

Oh, yeah. Hahahahahahaha. Its so freaking funny, Mom.

She tried to get me to use tampons but I refused. They scared the heck out of me. She refused to call my stepdad to go to the store and get me pads. So I wound up going to a friend's house. She lent me a pad and then called her mom. After work, her mom took me to Wal-Mart and got me the pads she thought work and was uber sympathetic and sweet.

I still freak when I get my period. Not bad just a little, "Ah! OMG!"

I think I have an ear infection.

I've been sick all day. Then this evening it gets worse- chills, my sinuses start draining uncontrollably. Then my ear starts to hurt.

It feels so full of pressure and it hurts. When I swallow I feel a click and it just screams.

DH didn't know what to do for me so he gave me some Vicodin to chill the pain b/c I'm a baby and was crying.

I've never had an ear infection before. I feel bad for all these babies and kiddos. OMG, its hurts. :(
