strep fever?

strep is going around in my community. R came down with it on sunday. she's on abx and everything - i took her in on monday.
i have to say though- i'm VERY surprised she's still running a fever now. she's been hovering around 100 the whole week. she's been out of school all week.  is this normal with strep?  this is the first time i've dealt with strep.

C hasnt gotten it. she had like a 99.5 yesterday but no sore throat. today she has no fever. i do plan to call the pedi today but wondering what your experiences have been.

what's crazy is that R isnt run down at ALL- she has a ton of energy, says her throat hurts only a little - what is with this fever?!

i've never really gotten strep save for once or twice, so i have no real advice

how many days of ABX is she on?

sometimes when cole is really sick and on ABX, he can go 5-7 days on ABX and still be having a fever.  :dunno:

doc said it's fine - she can go back to school even if she has a lowgrade fever - not contagious, not sick, just still has the fever remnant. phew.

Kelly, honestly, that doesn't sound quite right to me.  My boys get strep all the time and there have definitely been instances where they had fever for 5 days, even on antibiotics.  The strict rule has always been no school until fever free for 24 hours, even a low grade fever.  It is also possible that she is fighting a virus on top of the strep.  You should keep her home if she is still warm.
