I've seen all of these in the past several weeks. I liked all of them.

"Adam" is about a young man with Asperger's Syndrome. His father's funeral is at the beginning, then he meets a new young woman in his apartment building, then he gets fired from his job. His new girlfriend helps him to cope and find a new job. Slow, sweet movie. Nothing special.

Despite horrid reviews, I really enjoyed "Post Grad". The girl who played Rory Gilmore is the lead. She graduates from college with excellent grades and a "plan". Her plan is foiled when she doesn't get her dream job, then the movie follows her path as she is forced to move in with her parents and hit the pavement looking for any job at all to get out of her parents' house. There is a nice romance. The post grad's family is completely dysfunctional and silly. Funny movie.

"Julie & Julia" was really good. Everything about it was good--lots of laughs, lots of cooking, lots of blogging. Very enjoyable.

"Love Happens" was nothing like I expected. It has a depressing theme. The main character is a man whose wife's death prompted him to write a book about how to cope with grief. He holds seminars to help others with their grief, and he goes to Seattle for a conference. His in-laws live there, and it turns out that he never coped with his own grief. He meets a florist (Jennifer Aniston) at the hotel, and she helps him to confront his own feelings and guilt about his wife's death. Lots of sad parts although it does have a happy, sappy ending.

I LOVED "Julie & Julia".  I found it so inspiring.  And not inspiring in a "change your whole life" kind of way, but inspiring like making me want to cook, LOL.

Ha, actually I was on a cooking spree before this movie came out, which is what made me want to see it!  (I made a super-yummy pork loin last night BTW!)
