Good Morning!

We have LOTS of fun plans this weekend.

Tonight we're going on a hayride with Mikey's preschool.

Saturday we're taking the kids to go fishing, then Dan is taking Jake over to see a ceremony with 50 medal of honor winners and then they're going to the movies. I might take my kids over to my sister's to play or to my parent's house..

Sunday is my WW meeting w/my friend and then I think I'm heading out to donate platelets. I'm past due.

Oh how I miss hayrides.

We don't do them here for some reason.

Perhaps it's because it's still in the 80s/90s, IDK.

Sounds like a great weekend!

no hayrides? in texas? really?

is it very northern of me to admit i'm surprised? giggle.gif

I'm supposed to be working ATM, but I don't feel like it. :)

(It's taking me a LONG time to build up stamina again, that's for sure)

So......

Tomorrow is my usual Saturday morning long run & massage, followed by college football. My beloved Huskers are playing a relatively big game at Virginia Tech at 2:30. I am skeptical that we'll win, but hope we do.

I need to organize the girls' closets this weekend, and get a handle on my pantry (also in total disarray). And a large portion of my weekend time now goes to preparation for the week. The new world order around here is completely hectic, but very fulfilling.

There's also something called a chocolate festival going on that I feel I might not be able to pass up!

How did I miss that you are working again? What do you do again? (I'm flighty)

Not prominently in Austin, anyway. At least, not like there were in Omaha. Someone was always putting one together for something.

(I just did a quick google, and I see the city of Austin has a "hayride permit" request process. Maybe that has something to do with it.)

Maybe it's because we tend to do riverboat/lake cruises instead? (Although you do those there, too...)

No, it's not northern. I'm still shocked myself. (It is possible that I just HNI what's going on... LOL!)

I don't know if I've actually posted about it, so no, IDT you missed anything.

Alexandra's new school is about 15 miles from our home, but given rush hour traffic, it's a 40+ min drive.

As it just so happens, Damon's company has office space about 5 min from her new school -- and they had some room for me. So the original plan was that I was going to drop A off, come up here and work from 8:30-2:30, and then pick her up and go home. (V stays with my mom.)

My original plan for what I would do here was largely undetermined -- I was thinking about breathing some new life into MS (not necessarily the community aspect of it, but the blog/content aspect), but wasn't super excited about the idea.

As it turns out, there is quickly becoming a role for me in Damon's business. The founder of the business is another of our classmates from grad school (there are 4 employees total, not including me), so we all know one another. I keep getting invited to meetings and whatnot and actually have some ideas for what should come next, so to the extent that I'm willing to actually carry out those ideas, I could probably land myself a job.

I just can't decide if I REALLY want to do that, or if I'd rather just screw around on my computer in a different setting. :)

So no, you didn't miss much. biggrin

I love my "socialist" country. ;)

A decision just came down that if you have twins, both parents are allowed to take parental leave for the full amount of time (35 weeks - the first 17 weeks are maternity only).

I think that is so great. They say it is so that both babies can have someone's full attention.

My kids are wrestling, fighting, yelling at each other, and fussing/crying.

Glen is telling Henry not to hurt Mark but told Henry it was okay if Mark hurt him.

I think I'm going to go to the store.

It isn't raining for five seconds.
