Henry just asked if he could go play in his friend Payton's front yard.

He asked the other day, and my first thought was, "Well, ask your daddy if he'll go with you."

Then smart Henry countered, "But I walk all the way home from school by myself."

Good point.

So I told him he could go play in Payton's front yard.

If I were so inclined, I could go in my backyard and listen to them.

It is the first time that Henry has gone off on his own to play somewhere without my supervision.

Glen would be a basket-case.

I'm a little "aww, when did he get so big?" and "He better no go in their house without my permission", but not a basket-case.
