Braydon has announced that he will be asking Santa for a DS.  Ugh!  He already has a Leapster that got upgraded to a Didge, which he plays often, so I don't really know that he needs another system, but that is what all of his friends have and I have a hard time saying no to Santa presents, so if anyone sees a good deal, let me know.

I feel like they need nothing so I'd love to do a trip instead, but I know that won't fly.

I was having very similar thoughts--asking for money from grandparents instead of gifts so I could take the kids on a trip or two.

The major flaw here is that Glen wouldn't want to go on a trip.

Merry Christmas, Honey! We're going on a trip. See ya.

How old is Braydon?

This past summer, I was teaching a class of school-age kids (starting with kids who had finished kindergarten). We would have DS Days during which the kids could bring their DS's. If someone didn't have one, they could use my co-teacher's or another kid would share. One kid, going into first grade, said that he had a Leapster instead and all the other kids teased him. Just fyi.

I just asked Henry what he wanted for Christmas.

He said, "A zoo."

So y'all keep an eye out on slickdeals. K? Thanks.

I took Mark to WM this morning to look through the toy aisles and get some Christmas ideas.

Of course, he wanted everything--especially anything that has a commercial on Nickelodeon. And everything superheroish, anything that transformed, a giant Little Pet Shop set, anything electronic with buttons. Yep, everything.

Mark might like that.

It's much too babyish for Henry.

He's in 1st grade.  Exactly what I was thinking about the DS.  His Didge does look a lot like a PSP so that probably helps.

I got Henry a Yahtzee game.

I saw it on sale at WM the other day and remembered that he asked for it a few months ago.

So that's one thing for him.

We are going to get Hannah and Bryson a power wheels jeep to share. Anyone have experience with those? There are a couple i'm looking at. I think they will love it. I don't know what else. LPS for Hannah i'm sure and I found a Fisher Price Gumball machine with the little balls with things inside of them for B at Costco. I'm kind of stumped this year.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one thinking about Christmas. I am stressing trying to think of stuff that won't get shoved into the toy room and forgotten. They have so much stuff already that they don't use, I really want to get them stuff they will use.

For Ryan, I am pretty set on a DS. He plays the heck out of his leapster, but I think he's ready for something a bit older.  I'm about 99% sure on that. If he gets that, he'll get a few games and a case and probably that's it. Stocking stuffers of course.

Jillian- I'm more stumped. She will inherit Ry's leapster.. they already share it, but I'll probably get her a few new games, like the Princess one. And then probably more dress up stuff. That is all she likes to do. She loves playing dress up, and with makeup and stuff. She likes Barbies too, so maybe a few of those. I'll probably ask for clothes (she's in serious need of fall/winter stuff) and maybe for a session of her dance class from family.

Otherwise, I have no clue. Im stressing already. lol

i have been picking up things here and there for gifts for other people (out of the scholastic book ordering packet that came home the other day, for example - they have llama llama red pajama (one of our faves) for $1 this month so i got that for lots of our friends' kids).

since it was 30% off time at kohls, i ordered jake some cars stuff since he is SO into that movie and lightning mcqueen right now - a straw cup, a book with sounds, some pj's, and a plate, bowl and utencil set.

i don't have many ideas for emily yet - she's getting the tag (thanks erin!) and i'll probably try to get her another game for her leapster since she's just now really getting into it (and LOVES the penguin counting & bridge shapes games on the diego game).

my goal is to be 90% done with xmas shopping by tgiving.

That looks fun. I'll add it to my wish list for him.

Thanks!

Jen, Hannah LOVES her ds and I bet Ryan will love it too. They are great little machines, her daddy plays it with her all the time. There are tons of options for games and different levels of difficulty, I was shocked at what Hannah can do, her favorite game is Mario and she's better at it then I am! Kent had bought me that game for Christmas and it now belongs to Hannah  Anyhow just wanted to share, I think it's a great gift idea for Ryan!

I just ordered a bunch of the llama llama too through scholastic. What an awesome deal. Cannot beat it for a $.

I have no idea what Lucas' big gift will be.  I've been getting him things here and there.

So far he has a few Leapster games (he loves his Leapster, although he hasn't played it lately since he started going to PreK) I got them for $5 from T.J.Maxx)

Also the last time I was walking around the Wal-mart toy aisle they had these sets of toy tools for 88 cents. So I picked up 3 packs. The kid LOVES to pretend to fix stuff. He used to have a Doug and Melissa tool set but the tools got lost so they will be perfect to go in the little wodden tool box he still has.

I want to get him a Buzz and Woody that I also saw at WM. He LOVES them and right now plays with 2 old happy meal toys that I found on eBay. He'll be so excited to have his Buzz and Woody "upgraded"

He is also really into Peter Pan, but we just have it on VHS, so I might get him the 2 Disney movies on DVD.

He also still loves to Dress up. I might keep my eye out for things after Halloween is over.

We also always do books, but I'm not sure what yet.

I am getting so excited for the Holidays... Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

I have NO clue what to do for Christmas!  I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread!

However, with Black Friday coming up, I'm thinking TAG  for Shea or maybe a bike.  Both?

I have no clue for Rylen.

Okay I got Henry both the Zoo Tycoon cd-rom game and the Scholastic Tycoon cd-rom game pack (Mall Tycoon, School Tycoon, Moon Tycoon, and Deep Sea Tycoon). I also got him Yahtzee already, so he's pretty much finished.

Now I need to go to TJMaxx and see if I can find those $5 Leapster games for Mark.

:D

i'm so late on this. i really need to read these threads in more depth bc i apparently suck at keeping up with the toy industry (though my kids are pretty well dressed instead - lol).

R will be getting hello kitty stuff, carebears stuff, and strawberry shortcake stuff (probably the house??) - she's way into those three things and doesnt love electronics, so, easy.
i'll probably get her a new carebears shirt too because hers is too small now.

C will get a doll cradle and probably some HK stuff too, since she just likes whatever R likes - lol. i'll get them each some craft projects too - i love the make-your-own-plate sets and stuff like that, plus books of course. there's also this foldup dollhouse i think C would love.

i'm lucky bc my kids totally dont like a lot of stuff.  you bring them to a toystore and they walk around judging everything - lmao!  if they pick something up, i ask if they want it and they say "not really."
it's hilarious.
i asked R what she wants from santa, and she said "a stuffed bedtime bear" - so i asked her what else, and she said "one for C too" (i'd do :heart but i know she was just thinking about not having to share hers - ha).
