Well, this is exactly how we got Kaylin's name.  My Mom is Nancy Kaye and Mark's Mom is Linda.  Thus, Kaylin.  Much better than Nanlyn or Lincy.

Beautiful! I love that! (Meaning and the name itself.) If we ever have a girl (haha) I've always wanted her to be Raychel. I know the name itself is normal but it is a combination of my mom and dad's name and I love that. (rachel and ray and my mom's mom is rachel and my dad's dad ray).

I have a question.

Naleigh pronunciation?

Nay-lee?

Or Nolly?

Or some other non-Southern pronunciation I wouldn't think of?

This won't be pretty.

My mom's name is Susan. My siblings names are Chris, John(Jay), Heather, and Rebecca...

We've got Suris, Suchris, Chrisusan, Susohn, Johsan, Jaysan, JoySu, Susather, Heasan, and SuBecca, Resan,

I am sure there are more but I'm too tired to think clearly.

Can't do DH b/c he's an only child.

oh i was thinking of it differently (like nah-lee --- like the sound of nah-nah-nah-nah-poo-poo when you stick your tongue out at someone).

It's Nay-lee, I'm 99% sure.

But I hate all three versions equally, lol.

I just saw that they are going to use it as a nn.

I hope they saw this thread and saw how I thought Naleigh as a fn would make baby Jesus cry. I'm going to take credit for their child having a normal name. biggrin

I don't like it, but nicknames fall under the realm of things I don't judge. Like I wouldn't name Hannah Banana, and I'm sure people think it's crazy and stupid when they just hear me call her Banana, or how I'm sure people think it's ridiculous that we all call Hannah's bf Booger. aww I'll just assume it fits her and reserve judgement on it further. I'll keep maintaining that as an actual first name, it was crap, and I'm glad she came to her senses and realized that naming a baby is serious bidness.

I'm sorry if it offended you or made you worry, because that wasn't my intention. But, I realize that I rarely filter what I say, and how it might be percieved (although it's impossible, I suppose, to misconstrue calling a name crap, or comparing it to naming a kid after an STD) and that's something that I should be more mindful of.

I just think talking about baby names is fun, and take great joy inparticularly in discussing celebrity baby names a) because they are for the most part, more outlandish and b) they aren't here to get bothered by it (although if you name your kid Reign Beau, I doubt you really are expecting that it's something that people aren't going to discuss it.)

Just trying to keep the babyname board active, because I really do not want to see it go (not that that's been threatened or anything, I just know that it's unlikely that there would be need for an unactive board) and celebrity names are ripe for the picking.

I'll try to keep it more upbeat in the future, though!

Leah, I love you to pieces and pieces.  I totally don't understand the name-hate though.  Dip-shit that named his kid Adolf-Hitler, get it.  Creating a name, or using an uncommon name *cough...Koda...cough*, I don't get.  We spell Tristen different than most.  I wonder if that grinds on nerves.  I just don't get it.

DH just informed me that Tristen is spelled with an "an" and not an "en" though I swore it was an "en"....That being said I much prefer the way you spell Tristen. Actually, I just like the name all together.

I actually think Naleigh is cute too... but not pronounced Nay-lee, I like nah-lee.

Let's see mom is Katherine sister is Amanda so Kathanda would be lovely LMAO. Amankath looks pretty, amanerine, Katherinda... This wouldn't work out so well for me.

If I ever do get to have another girl, I would love to incoporate my mom's and Kent's mom's name but I don't know quite how I would do it. My mom is Katherine, Kent's is Jennifer. Since Kent is dead set against another I shouldn't have to worry for awhile.
