An unexpected compliment: I love you, You're the best, You're so nice, etc.
And, in a close second place, that magical moment when (usually about 30 minutes) after Hannah's said something to publically embarrass me, when I stop being upset about it and can laugh hysterically at whatever it was she said.
The greatest thing about being a mom for me is the immense joy and love I see in my children.
Now remind me of that the next time I am ready to pull my hair out, which should be in about an hour or so.
Anyone doing anything interesting today? Elizabeth starts her new ballet class today. It should be really fun for her. The first half the learn ballet and the second half they act out fairy tales with costumes. Okay, so that's not me, but Elizabeth. Close enough.
With Colin I love watching him grown into this independent little being. I love the spontaneous "I love you's" and I love when he does something for us that was completely unexpected and just so thoughtful- like last night before he went to bed, he brought Grant a cup of milk he had poured himself and told him that it was just in case Grant couldn't sleep. I love watching him become a big brother to Adelaide through the small things- such as calling her his "snuggle buns." When she's in the room with him and he sees her, he lights up and in that moment all jealousy is forgotten as he begs for "his snuggle buns" and he will sit there and hold her. I love watching him learn new things and grow into his own little person. (not liking the jealousy one bit)
With Adelaide right now I love watching her grow and achieving her milestones. I love the smiles she gives me when I go in to get her when she's woken up from her nap. I'll peek at her and she'll see me and just launch into this huge gummy grin and ah! That right there is what its all about for me.
The spontaneous moments when I know I'm doing at least one thing right.
Grant came home Friday and said, "We need to talk now." He told me that the plant he works at is canceling their contract with the company he works for. The contract is handled through a third party and the plant decided that they didn't want to deal with the third party any more so they canceled the contract. The contract is dead on the 30th of this month. The plant is saying that they will begin working on a new contract with the company that Grant is with minus the third party. But there are several people in the plant that do not want Grant and his team there. Ahh. So the big suits from the company are down this week. If this all doesn't pan out, they promised to move any one that lost their job. But if it all goes well, then it could eliminate Grant's boss' job and leave Grant the sole manager at the plant.
But I am so afraid that it won't work out.
On top of that, this jealousy of Colin's is out of control and we have no idea how to get a grip on it.
I love when Josie asks me to "Nuggle ME" and when they play nicely together. I love the "I love you"s and watching them learn new things.
I love Charlie's long technical explainations of things, complete with hand gestures and words like actually and technically. lmao
I love when Josie spontanously bursts out singing Laurie Berkner songs "Wait a minute, we fisss! Lets go lou-min, lets go lou-min in the bottom of the pool"
I love seeing the huge difference in them from a few months ago.

I am like most everyone else-I love the I love yous, the unexpected sweet times. When they share well or I hear them repeating things that I have tried to teach them-it is so nice to see things finally sinking in a bit. It is awesome when they take some initiative and clean up without being asked, or hearing them use good manners without being told.
I love listening to Anna's stories-and I love how excited Kate gets about silly things.
And then of course, being a mom is awesome once daddy gets home, lol!!!

Wait, I have an empty, kid free house just sitting there all alone. no need to pay for hotel.
You know you may be onto something there! To make a little extra money to compensate for the payments of both places I bet you could rent your house out for a weekend and/or during the holidays.
Besides if you are going to do the hotel thing you don't want to have to do dishes and wash the towels. Much better to let someone else do the cleaning.
Robert comes home and stays with E for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can go to PiYo. I didn't see any lunch dishes so I asked her what she had for dinner. She told me she had some mistake. It was left over steak.
Santa comes here every night to make sure children are in bed, and if not asleep, at least playing quietly in their bed.
It involves me looking like an idiot, shaking bells when I'm outside smoking, but for I'll take that over yelling for the better part of 3 hours, and then having an overly tired child that doesn't want to get up for school the next day.
Santa even had to write a note once that he was putting a cease and desist on all work on Hannah's gifts, and that the elves had went hiking in their free time.
I'm sure Hannah's college fund will be turning into a therapy fund, but it's all good.
