What chores do your kids have to do?

Colin has to feed the fish, feed the cats, clean his room, make his bed, and put his dishes away. He has his own cabinet that he can get to that he can put them in and he has to do it.

He also sometimes has yard chores to do too if we're outside. Depends.

Oh how I wish they did any!!

I have Braydon and Kaylin empty the dishwasher. Not every time, but they're getting used to it.

They are supposed to keep their rooms clean and put away their laundry.

The toy room is supposed to stay picked up too.

The hard part is staying on top of them to do it all when it's so much faster when I just do it.

I'm also bed shopping for Kaylin because it looks like it's time to give hers to Carter.

Agh. I am so burnt.

We started going to a different Lutheran church that has more families, etc. And yesterday they had service and a picnic at this huge Lutheran camp. And we were invited and asked to stay so we did.
Of course I didn't listen to sage advise on staying out of the sun. Nah. I fried.

And to top if all off- one of the OB's from the practice I go to goes to the church as well- She's also my Sunday school teacher.

She is so the doctor in the office and out.
I told her how Grant was on the fence about more kids, etc. I said I'm on board for more girls! I was meant to have girls! And I told her that he was hesitant (again- had him convinced and now he's back to being unsure) about preeclampsia, etc. I said, "What are the chances?" Rhetorical question. She said, "30-50% chance." I said, "We'll live dangerously. We'll gamble." She said, "And I'll put you on bed rest from the start."

Uh, no thanks. I'd rather not.

heart.gif But she was awesome. Totally cool and not awkward at all about us being there.

Mine don't really do any right now. I know I have to implement something.

Josie does clean up after all of us, lmao. She's a neat freak and living with us is going to drive her crazy, I suspect.

Yesterday, I caught her throwing out a baby toy (a dollar bill with the crinkly paper inside of it - was her favorite toy so I want to keep it) because it sounded like a wrapper. She was furious I wouldn't let her put it in the garbage. lol.

I do have them put their clothes in the laundry basket at bath time and clean up their toys but they aren't great at doing it.

I can't wait until they can wash dishes and do laundry. lol

Well, SG is *supposed* to keep her room clean, most of the time it's like Hurricane Katrina has re-visited us...

She does put her toys away in the LR, put her clothes away after I fold them and puts her dirty ones in the hamper (Presley does this too).

I usually make their beds after they're gone to school, but she will help me do that when she's home.

Rebecca keeps the kitchen clean, does a load of laundry per week, and helps cook twice per week.  Crystal cleans the upstairs bathroom, the stairs, and upstairs hallway, and helps cook once per week.  Kyle sweeps under the table every day and vaccuums the living room once per week, cleans the bathroom sinks once per week, and makes sure the cats have enough water.  Brenna pulls the dishes out of the dishwasher every day and cleans the table and chairs once per week.  Brittany puts the clean silverware away every day.  All of my kids pick up their toys at the end of the day every day.  Their chores change at their birthdays, so they keep the same jobs for a year.

HA! Funny question. Not much. I think I am going to start having Gavin put away silverware from the dishwasher. I don't know how some of your kids empty the d/w. Do they put the dishes on the counter? I actually think Gavin would like doing chores but I'm always in such a hurry that it's faster to do myself and when they are asleep.

Good morning.

Hannah has a few sime chores. She brings her dishes to the kitchen after dinner. She is to put her clothes in the hamper after taking them off. She picks up her toys before she goes to bed. I think that is it.

I don't have her make her bed. I don't make mine :bag. I stopped after having to make a gazillion beds when I worked as a nurses aid. That being said ken makes both beds every day :giggle

My boys are suppose to clean up their rooms (not that they always do but most days they keep it a little clean). They should clean up when they eat and they do chores as needed.

For example yesterday we clean up the windows and they help out cleaning outside.

When I told them to do something and they give me the look I always say: "your wives are going to thank me for it."

GM

K puts her dishes in the sink when finished, is supposed to pick up the toy room at night, put her dirty clothes in the hamper, sometimes she helps empty the dishwasher but I prefer she doesnt because our dishes are breakable.

I swear Kate and Josie are soul sisters!  Kate is a cleaner!  She loves to vacuum and get the broom out and "wash" dishes.  If it's cleaning, she loves it!

The little ones don't really have chores - I have them take their dirty laundry to the laundry room.  I'm starting to have Jake clear his dishes after dinner and put his napkin and uneaten food into the trash and dishes into the sink.

I need to get him to do some more work on keeping his bedroom cleaned - it's a mess but both he and Kate play in there.

Mine don't do anything too strenuous, lol.

The biggest job is toy cleanup. They hate it, and so do we. They also are in charge of putting their dirty things in the hamper, helping me pick out clothes for the next day, helping empty the dishwasher (not everytime though-sometimes it is just easier to do it myself), help set the table for dinner, and clear their plates after dinner.

We haven't really started with the keeping the room clean thing, but aside from dirty clothes and making the beds (which they don't do-and I don't either. They have too many stuffed animals on the beds, plus Kate's railing is too hard to put down, so we just pull up the cover, lol.), their rooms don't have a whole lot in them to clean up. If they make a mess with dress up stuff or books or stuffed animals, they have to clean up as soon as they are done.

They also like to help me cook, but that is more like a treat for them and a chore for me, lmao!
