Some of you saw in a chat thread that I'm having trouble with my finger. Saw my dr today and he thinks it's a calcium deposit inside the knuckle. I had xrays tonight and will wait to hear tomorrow.
If his dx is correct I could do cortisone injection or surgery. My mom had the same problem - cortisone didn't help her. It just kept coming back. The Hand surgeon would be my next stop to make a decision.
Ugh. So does this seem to run in families then? What are the risks of having surgery? What are your thoughts as of now as for treatment, if his dx is right?
I'll be looking for the update tomorrow, and praying maybe he is wrong and it will be something that will go away on its own!
Sorry you are dealing with this. It sounds like it would be painful and difficult to deal with. It sure does make you realize how much you use those fingers when one is hurt. I hope they can get you some answers and a solution soon.
