if so, i'm sorry, but i'm complaining again.

it is hurting me ALL.THE.TIME now.

idt it's broken.  i'm worried it's like a tendon injury or something.

i'm finally going to the dr tomorrow afternoon, but he'll just send me for x-rays, so i won't have any answers for a few more days at least.

dammit.

I haven't heard you complain about it-and that sucks!!! What did you do to it???

ihni.

it started bothering me on occasion when i was still in school - so may or june i guess.

at first i thought it was trigger finger (my mom gets that) or early onset arthritis or something.  but now, it's just too painful too often for it to be something like that i think.

major pita - i can't carry anything in my left hand and if the kids grab that hand, omg, it kills.

i'm guessing i'll end up with one of those stupid finger splints or something.  i just hope it's something that will heal on its own and doesn't require surgery or anything.

i would get that checked out!  my mom jammed her pinkie last december, and when i went to visit in feb it was still frozen and the joint was less flexible - i took her to the doc and she had a slight ruptured tendon and because she waited so long to get it treated it has taken months for it to get better - 6 months later and she still has a splint on it!

omg, please don't tell me that.

at least it's my left hand, so hopefully it will be nbd.  i'm just ready for it to stop hurting 24/7!

laura - our grocery store has one of those self-scan things too!   i get checked only every few months - apparently our system works so that you have to do an item-check (detailed checkout)  more frequently if you don't match your totals - so we are VERRRRY careful to always scan everything  :)

surprisingly, very few people use it, so it is always so quick to get checked out.  i was so excited on the morning of dec 24th - i did a HUGE shop and i waltzed out of the checkout in less than a minute, while the normal checkouts were a dozen peeps long each going back into the aisles!

plus its so convenient to line up all my recyclable bags in the cart and pack everything up in the "right"  order so it is so quick to unpack at home!

omg, megan, itu that last part!

i HATE when a grocery store employee packs my bags.  #1, they are usually kids so they don't know what would be convenient for unpacking.  #2, how many times have they neglected to give me one of the bags they packed for me?!?!

i love that you are anal about that stuff like me!  i get even more peeved with i specifically put the stuff on the conveyer belt in the "right" order, and between the bimbo cashier grabbing stuff out of order and the duche bag bag boy it ends up all fucked up anyways.

over here in lux they passed a law that all throwaway plastic bags are taxed about 5 cents a bag - so you have to "buy"  them if you forget your recyclable ones.

Ugh!

When I load everything up, I categorize it according to where it goes in the house- freezer, fridge, pantry, cabinet, bathroom, etc. I extremely dislike the cashier getting it out of order because it messes up my system of putting the groceries away. It simplifies the task and takes less time. I can take the bathroom bag to the bathroom etc etc.

And Aldi- you have to buy the bags for 10 cents. And Earth Fare is the same way. You have to buy the bags or you can use boxes. So a lot of the times we use the boxes. But if we go to Wal-Mart, Target, Ingles- then I reuse the plastic bags at home for trash, litter box, diapers, etc.

I am really enjoying Anna's age. She is getting so independent!!! She makes me laugh all of the time.

This morning, she commented on Kate's outfit (which I had picked out), and she said, "Oh Kate, you look....interesting."

I lmao because that is what i say to her sometimes when she dresses herself. I asked her if she didn't like Kate's outfit, and she said that she did. So I guess she doesn't realize that when I say it to her, it means I am not down with her choices, lol. Which is good, I guess!

I feel like I am just really coming into my own with the kids now. Not that I stunk before, but I don't like having babies very much. Sure they are cute and all, but I enjoy these ages, problems and all, a LOT more than having babies. I think I deal better with these kinds of issues than I do with baby issues. I never wanted to slow down the baby stages (well, not for the first 6-9 months at least), but now I wish I could stop time for a while and just enjoy this.

Anyway, Anna is a hoot to me these days. SO FAR, 4 has been fun in our house. I wish I could send some of the fun to other houses where I know the same has yet to be true!!!

4 has been interesting here too. which is frustrating because when jake turned 4 i fell in heart.gif all over again - he was so great. caroline & mikey - um ... not as much in the positive behavior department.

mikey is currently eating mac & cheese (with sweet potatoes hidden inside) and will have dessert of brownies made with applesauce. the only way i can get him to eat veggies or fruit at all. disbelief

i was shocked in the US last week about how wasteful they are with plastic bags - they put, like, one big box of cereal into a bag and thats it - they load it in the cart.  i have a half a cart of stuff and end up with over 20 bags!!!

at hilton head they were so bad at bagging our first trip to fresh market, all the next visits i asked to bag it myself and they let me :)

omg, lmao!  i put stuff on the belt like that too!  :hi5:  i put all the frozen stuff together, fresh produce together, boxes for the pantry together, etc.

and ita about the bags.  i don't use bags in the produce section unless that stuff is wet from the sprinklers over there.  i know the cashiers probably hate it, but i hate wasting all that plastic!

How funny-I put things on the belt that way too!

I never use plastic anymore-if I happen to forget my bags, I ask for paper.  Only one store around here doesn't have paper regularly, and one of them ONLY uses paper-you have to ask for plastic there.

I do use produce bags a lot though-but I recycle them.

When I first got my reusable bags, I was one of the first, it seemed!!  But now I see lots of people using them.  I think it is great!!

We don't have Safeway's around here anymore, and we don't have any of those scan thingy's you're talking about either.  Just the self-checkout stores.

Kenley is now cutting her 4th tooth, and the one I was talking about the other day, is definitely her eye tooth, because this one is her top middle one.

LOL-I know.  It doesn't seem like 4 has been too smooth for you.  I hope it gets easier in your house.

But I do think part of it is just that I like preschoolers a lot more than I liked babies and toddlers.  They are more testy without a doubt and it is harder on some levels, but I feel like I have more options with them in terms of discipline now, plus they are old enough that I can put the ball in their court more.  Their behavior is their choice, and I don't feel badly at all when they get in trouble because I tell them all the time they are in control of their own actions.  Plus they aren't hell bent on killing themselves like they were when they were little and in discovery mode, so there is less stress for me on that front.

IDK-everyone has their favorite ages with kids.  I like these ages.  At least better than I did the younger ages!!!  I knew going through the baby/toddler thing that I would never look back on it and think of it as my fave.  I didn't hate it, but it is definitely not my thing.  But worth it!!!  I work well with this age range up until I would say about 5th grade.  Then I start to dislike them again, lmao.  Having tweens is not going to be fun for me, I am certain!!!

nm about your finger i read up.

laura, those scanner things sound neat. all we have around here is walmart's stupid self checkout and that thing just ticks me off the majority of the time because it is so dayum slow.
