I just realized the washer is done. I should go switch that and start another load.

My lips are dry.

It is a GORGEOUS day here. A little taste of fall, and I LOVE it!!!

Its 66 degrees outside!

All my windows are open. Its raining outside and a bit breezy so I get this nice breeze. The doors are open. The windows on the storm doors are up a little. The ceiling fans are on lightly. Mmm.

Its so odd to be August and having to wear jeans!! But I love it since I've lost this weight and the pants fit and feel great!

That is awesome!!!!  Congrats on the weight loss!!!!

I was happy to put jeans on this morning too.  It was so nice!!!

Thank you! I was stoked to find out I'm down 50lbs so far. The c-section plus the Topamax plus the constant up/down, up/down, up/down method to my day, the Wii Fit, the walking all contribute. I've changed my day. No more soda(Topamax), no more high calorie snacks. I've traded all that in for fruit and yogurt. So when I'm hungry I grab some fruit and water. Or yogurt. :)

I've got about 5 pairs of jeans! :)

ihni what this post means.

hi though!

and jennie, sorry about your bro & sil. do they have kids?

i haven't eaten yet today. i'm going to find food and then i'll bb. :)

lmao.  Don't any of your grocery stores have that kind of thing?  You scan your bonus/club/savings/whatever it is called in your store card, and they have this rack of self scanners, like you would get when you register.  They have plastic and paper bags there, or you can use your reusables, and you go through and scan your items as you shop, bag them, and then when you check out, you just scan this barcode, and your card again, scan coupons and that is it.

They do the audits where they randomly scan like 3-5 items in your bags, to make sure you have what you are supposed to and not anything else.  It has only happened to me a handful of times at most.

IDK if it saves a ton of time, but it is fun for the girls, and you can checkout quick usually-you can do the self checkout lanes and be on your way in maybe a minute!

omg.

that is the COOLEST THING EVER!  we have none of that sh1t here. just those self-check-out lines that i HATE b/c the people in front of me never know WTF they are doing.  idiots.

our bj's has it too and that thing is so F'N stupid.  it never knows what i'm scanning.  makes me :ahhhhhhhhhh.

laura - our grocery store has one of those self-scan things too!   i get checked only every few months - apparently our system works so that you have to do an item-check (detailed checkout)  more frequently if you don't match your totals - so we are VERRRRY careful to always scan everything  :)

surprisingly, very few people use it, so it is always so quick to get checked out.  i was so excited on the morning of dec 24th - i did a HUGE shop and i waltzed out of the checkout in less than a minute, while the normal checkouts were a dozen peeps long each going back into the aisles!

plus its so convenient to line up all my recyclable bags in the cart and pack everything up in the "right"  order so it is so quick to unpack at home!

Oh man, I hate the self scanner at BJs too!!!!  I only use it if the lines are really long.

Our grocery stores are cool now.  It seems like two of them got upgrades and now they have fun things.  Then there is the other one close by that is a total dump, and the local market type store that needs a makeover, but people still "love" it because it is local.

And it is nice because we have so many within only a few miles that they really compete price wise!!!

We heart.gif the scan it.

you guys should try russian style cole slaw - it is made with a vinagrette rather than the american cream/sugar sauce.  and it is left in the fridge for about a week so that the flavours mature and blend.    my bff dimitri makes it every spring - so yummy!

when i go to bj's, it's always during the week.  they usually have the express lane open and 1 regular register.  everything else is self-check.  last time i was there, i was trying to get in the regular line and this lady and her kids were in front of me over there - they had 2 FULL CARTS full of stuff.  um, i'm not waiting behind that!

have i complained in here about my finger yet?

if so, i'm sorry, but i'm complaining again.

it is hurting me ALL.THE.TIME now.

idt it's broken.  i'm worried it's like a tendon injury or something.

i'm finally going to the dr tomorrow afternoon, but he'll just send me for x-rays, so i won't have any answers for a few more days at least.

dammit.

ITTTTTTTTA-I love packing it myself (I take my reusable bags too-but dang it, I forgot to grab a few paper ones.  I usually grab a couple to use for recycles papers at home.).

And I always scan everything-I have never had a problem with that, but it is irksome when they do an item audit and I have the kids.  ITU why they do it though-people could definitely take advantage.  I can't remember the last time I had one-it was months ago!!

It is very fun!!

Topamax is an anti-seizure medication that is also approved to prevent migraines. My OB/GYN is a blessing and listens so beautifully. He put me on it to see if it'll prevent the migraines b/c its obvious that the sleep apnea wasn't the answer b/c once a week migraines that kept getting escalating in terms of severity were not cool.

Its the answer to my prayers! :)

That definitely sounds more up my alley, Megan.  I hate the sauce on traditional coleslaw.  Blech.

ihni.

it started bothering me on occasion when i was still in school - so may or june i guess.

at first i thought it was trigger finger (my mom gets that) or early onset arthritis or something.  but now, it's just too painful too often for it to be something like that i think.

major pita - i can't carry anything in my left hand and if the kids grab that hand, omg, it kills.

i'm guessing i'll end up with one of those stupid finger splints or something.  i just hope it's something that will heal on its own and doesn't require surgery or anything.

i love that you are anal about that stuff like me!  i get even more peeved with i specifically put the stuff on the conveyer belt in the "right" order, and between the bimbo cashier grabbing stuff out of order and the duche bag bag boy it ends up all fucked up anyways.

over here in lux they passed a law that all throwaway plastic bags are taxed about 5 cents a bag - so you have to "buy"  them if you forget your recyclable ones.  i know some people complain about having too many laws, but this one makes sense to me as people are so wasteful and lots dont really care about the environment.

i was shocked in the US last week about how wasteful they are with plastic bags - they put, like, one big box of cereal into a bag and thats it - they load it in the cart.  i have a half a cart of stuff and end up with over 20 bags!!!

at hilton head they were so bad at bagging our first trip to fresh market, all the next visits i asked to bag it myself and they let me :)

omg, lmao!  i put stuff on the belt like that too!  :hi5:  i put all the frozen stuff together, fresh produce together, boxes for the pantry together, etc.

and ita about the bags.  i don't use bags in the produce section unless that stuff is wet from the sprinklers over there.  i know the cashiers probably hate it, but i hate wasting all that plastic!
