Damn.

I got an email back from my advisor at the program I want to enter next year.

One of the classes I'm taking this fall (Biochem) won't transfer. Apparently not enough credits.

My only option is to turn my entire schedule upside down to take it at another school this semester (I'm currently at a community college, and the class is offered through Univ of Wisc), or wait to see if they offer it in the spring and work out a new schedule then.

This sucks. I should have known not to get too confident about things.

I'm  not too particular about brands, since I am fortunate enough that I don't actually get too stinky.

I used to LOVE Suave Naturals Aloe Vera scented; it was a solid, but never had a problem with marks, and it smelled sooooo nice...kind of like soap.

I love the way soap smells. Not smelly soap, but like Dove or Oil of Olay. I could just sit with a bar of soap and sniff it for hours. That's not weird, right?

I would put that stuff on in the morning and night, and just kidn of smell it alll day...ahhh.

No, Toni.

That's not weird.

Not weird at all.

:brow

I also love a nice, clean smell--nothing fruity or perfume-y.

That really stinks.

Seems like they could try to work with you a little.

I need to have a "business" meeting with dh.

Our finances, although marginally better since we paid off the credit card and don't use it anymore, are still in the toilet.

We cannot stick to a budget.

It seems neither of us is willing to make any sacrifices to live within our means.

I thought I had gotten him onboard with the Nashville trip (as in I thought there was a 50% chance that he'd go with me and the boys), but yesterday he started harping about how it was so expensive to stay there.

Then he suggested we stay someplace free . . . like his grandparents' house.

Um, they don't live in the same state as Nashville.

Also, I noticed that my scrawny little Henry isn't so scrawny anymore.

His booty has really filled out.

Since Glen has hbp and I have marginally high cholesterol, I think we need to start limiting fast food for the kids.

I'm super-lazy and it's such a habit for Glen to take the kids to get food whenever they ask him; we really need to work on that.

Wow, I had lots to say.

Ya, I don't want to push them too far with exemptions. They are already waving the microbiology prerequ (based on the fact that I worked as a microbiologist for the past 6 years).

It just stinks that I've already taken all of these classes (and then sum), but did so more than 5 years ago.

Stupid graduate school requirements. Blah.

Ya, I definitely don't like fruity. I feel sticky when I put something fruity on.

Baby powder is a good substitute for the aloe vera.

The other (and more major) point I wanted to discuss with dh is his unwillingness to work on a doable budget right now.

He thinks that we couldn't possibly pay off stuff/save money until _________________.

Fill in the blank with: he pressures me to start teaching full-time or he gets a winning lottery ticket or he gets a massive promotion and raise at work with a giant bonus.

He's so hard-headed that I'm not sure I can make him realize the error of his thinking.

If we can't manage our money with the little we have now, how are we going to do it if/when we get more?

Ugh.

I could have typed a lot of this post. We are in a similar boat.

On paper, it seems like we should be just fine. But in reality, we can't quite reign in the unnecessary spending. We are cooking home more, but still WAY too much fast food.

And Danielle grew, no joke, 1 inch in the past 3 months. The pediatrician was shocked. We took her clothes shopping, but I'm noticing most of her shoes are ridiculously small, and her jammies are totally floods.

The main difference here is that George was trying to convince me to go stay with his family in France this year as a vacation. No thanks, buddy.

I was noticing the other day that Danielle looks REALLY old.

She was wearing her new skinny jeans (little clam digger, so adorable) and a tight aeropostale shirt with flip flops.

No joke, she looked like she was 16 years old. Her hips are getting round, and her waist is super tiny. She has really filled out; it's pretty scary.

George noticed, too, and started asking why I took her clothes shopping at those places.

My reply: because now she looks cute (not slutty or anything, but the clothes fit her properly).

But then yesterday, she was wearing her "I Love Horses" shirt, which made me feel better biggrin.

I would focus on that lottery goal. Seems like a good plan (and one that is discussed here quite often, lol).

Of course, to win the lottery, you have to actually play, so our odds aren't so hot right now. But I keep holding out hope!

How old is Danielle? 10?

I can't believe how much older Henry looks than just a few months ago.

My screen-saver is random pictures, and I saw one of Henry decorating a gingerbread house this past Christmas.

He looked so much younger.

My friend Kimberly gives me all of her 12-year-old son's outgrown clothes for Henry.

Unfortunately, Henry is starting to catch up to her son in height.

We are getting SO country-fied. We keep accumulating animals, which is driving me batty.

We now have:
- two guinea pigs (Snickers and Orea), who live in a huge 3 ft x 5 ft cage in our basement

-One dog (who is huge and sheds black hair everywhere)

-Two kittens (who we just brought home this week, and whose favorite activity is throwing cat litter out of their litter box....my poor vaccum has been working overtime). We named them Milo and Dash (Dash is Dani's cat; we wanted to let them name the cats all by themselves, but they would have ended up being called Shark and Wildcat, so George and I intervened).

I would love to post pictures, but my camera cord is missing.

She just turned 10. It's amazing, because I'm pretty sure when I was 10 I did not like look that.

I should be honest, I never looked like that. Lucky girl inherited her dad's genes.

I have never been able to get hand-me-downs, because my kids have been so much bigger than my neices. My little niece Ellie will be 6 next month, and Juliette is a full half a head taller than her, and we have started giving her the clothes that don't Jules anymore.

Hopefully Henry is just going through a growth spurt, and he'll slow down long enough to get some use out of those clothes!

That sounds so fun!

What's the dog's name?

Good morning ladies!

Finally waking up to some sunshine.  ahhhhhhhhhhh.

I use Secret invisible solid.  I want to say that I'm not really brand loyal, but it is the kind I always buy.  Probably b/c my mom always used Secret and that's what she got for me when I started wearing it.  I don't think I'd be too heartbroken if they stopped making it though (until I tried a ton of others and realized how much I actually did love the Secret LOL).

There used to be a shampoo & conditioner line called Vibrance.  It seriously gave me new hair. I LOOOOOOOVED it!!  Love love love.  They stopped making it and I'm still crying inside over the loss.
