but i have to admit that the thought of making out right after eating those burgers with that burger flavor and onion residue in your mouth is making me :puke: a little.

i remember sucking down that coke and swishing it discreetly around trying to get rid of the hamburger yuk... but we both had ketchup breath so it was OK!

oh yes. after coke, that would be yum.

my dad is coming down!!!!

i'm so excited b/c we haven't seen him since january or february. he actually is bringing bday gifts for both kids, that's how long it's been since we've seen him.

he only lives 2.5 hours away, but he had a friend living with him while the friend sold his house and waited to close on the new house, etc. it was MONTHS and we just figured it would be better to not have that many people sharing that space.

we were supposed to take him out on the boat, but it's terrible yucky weather here, so we'll probably just hang out today. we might take him out on the boat in the morning b/c it's supposed to be nice in the morning.

sonya, how about meeting him half-way and having him take a bus to that point. that might be a better compromise. :dunno:

I think we are going to go. The weather is still ok. I have no idea what we will do if the weather turns. we could go see a movie half way there but I have no idea if Josie will sit through something.

oh well, we'll figure it out.

and good luck. do you have a portable dvd they can watch in your car on the way? that has seriously kept me sane on most long car trips.

i think that i'm going to try to talk matt into buying 2 portable players this fall so that each kid has one. we've been using a laptop on trips (and i have them built-in to my van), but they're getting old enough that they don't always want to watch the same thing. plus, now that jake gets his own seat, when we go to matt's parents, one kid will sit with me and the other with matt. and i really don't want to take 2 laptops just for that.

i just need to find them on a good deal.

we do have a portable dvd but they are so good in the car. Charlie will watch the ipod and mostly they'll just sit.

josie is completely uninterested in tv.

i remember that at this age, emily was like jo. she would watch a wiggles show or something, but nothing else.

jake? omg. that kid loves SO many shows. and even longer movies - he is asking for "cars movie" and stuff now.

i cannot believe how fast he's growing up. :(

Charlie was an absolute TV junkie. Josie couldn't care less about it. She asks to watch and then she wanders off. Charlie won't move when the tv is on so we really have to regulate it.

We watched Movie Cars every day from 18 mths until 2. Shoothead.

jake is still sleeping. i can't believe it. he must have been tired last night. i think the rain helps too.

Josie got up at 4:45 this morning. I brought her into bed with me but I didn't sleep. She woke up again at 5:55. I don't like 5 am.

normally i'd make mike get up (i'm an awesome wife) but he wasn't here. when I'm not here, the kids sleep until 7. they rock. :eyeroll:

She just turned two on the 7th of Aug.

She does such a good job (sometimes). Last night i left her at my mom's to run quickly to walmart. She pooped in her underwear, my mom pulled it off downstairs and got poop on the floor in the kitchen. She realized her mistake, took her upstairs and pulled it off in the bathroom - josie stepped in it then walked on the carpet and then my mom walked in it (lmao). my mother was not happy with me when I got home (lmao).

I said "oh she never does that for me" (my mom's key phrase whenever I tell her something the kids do).
