Robin that is awful that someone threw eggs at your house! I agree with Sara that it was probably some punks. I am glad you caught it before it was a real problem.
Jenn I hope you can get caught up on some sleep today. How is Kenley doing with her hearing aid?
We're easing her into it and not leaving it in all day. But she's doing good with it. She doesn't mess with it near as much as I thought she would
we're making him pecan pie (his fav) and a carb filled dinner as a treat since he's been on atkins.
the motorcycle i got him in april is his birthday present but i feel weird about not giving him anything. i HAAAAATE that.
Would you let Jake have/drive a motorcycle when he gets his license? There is a teen that drives one to school. I saw him and said that I wouldn't let Stephen have one. He didn't even question why. He would probably have more to say if he had his license and money to get one.
I don't think you need to get him anything else for his bday and I hate all housework.

jake at 16 driving a motorcycle? no.flipping.way. money or not he's not old enough to hold a title i don't think.
Laundry, hands down. I love it. It's satisfying to me to see everyone's stains and crap gone, lol, and folding is one of those good "thinky" things where your hands can do one thing and your mind can be miles away.
Sonya, that stinks about hf&m going around! Poor Char.
Apies, I can kinda understand liking to clean the bathroom, except I haaaaate having to do anything to the toilet. Idk why, but I have a huge hangup about toilets (:crazy). I do it, but I hate it.
Melissa, I hope the sleep issues work themselves out -- I can't imagine having to deal with that at just 9 months! Ugh...my older always were quick to drop naps, but not that early!
Sara, too cute about Bennett! He does sound super smart.
Funny story: I help with something called "Sprouts" on Wednesday nights. Here is the description from the newsletter.
WHAT: Just as a seed grows into a sprout and, finally, into a full-grow plant, in SPROUTS children have an opportunity to grow as Christian disciples. Participants learn to practice daily
*Acts of Kindness (helping others) * Acts of Justice (helping our world) * Acts of Devotion (relating to God) * Acts of Worship (praising God with others)
My friend Beth started this class because 6th graders didn't have choir on Wednesday nights--it's just goes up to 5th grade, and the youth Bible study starts at 7th grade.
Anyway, Beth told me the other day that someone in an executive meeting asked her why she had a sex education class every Wednesday night during the school year. :brow: Apparently, the idea of a seed and a sprout made that person think sexually. Beth said she tried to explain what I copies in blue above but just kept making it sound worse and worse.

emily is a screamer so she SCREAMS everytime jake does something to pizz her off - get too close to her on the stairs, open the door when she's in the bathroom, try to close the gate at the top of the stairs (he can't actually do it), etc etc etc.
i can almost deal with his destruction more easily than i can deal with her screaming and whining all.day.long.
I don't mind doing the laundry, like Sonya said, but I detest folding and putting away.
I don't mind cleaning bathrooms, aside from the toilets, and even then, I only mind those in the bathrooms Bill uses. (and the floor around the toilet in those bathrooms is nasty too-wtf?)

she NEEDS to be back at school!!!
Sounds like school starting will be a good thing for your kids!!! I can't handle screaming. I just can't. That is an immediate time out because I hate it so much. (not if they are outside-and I make exceptions for things like daddy tickling them and such. Then daddy gets in trouble and has to take on an extra duty for making them scream) Screaming absolutely SUCKS.
I'll taking whining over screaming anyway, even though whining sucks too.
My girls were terrors when school first let out, but we have gotten used to being together all the time again. I hope they are fine with going back! I am not sure I am ready for it, but I guess it will be nice to have those mornings to myself, especially since my parents travel a lot this time of year. But they are expecting the same kids to be in their classes-I hope they have some good friends in their classes this year!!! I am just a smidge worried about Kate being the oldest and feeling like everyone else is a baby.
He wanted to play in our wading pool (which gets very little use), so I turned on the hose to put some water in it.
After much pleading, he convinced me to get on my swimsuit and join him.
We played: -pretend swimming lessons -rain, thunder, tornado -pirate ship -treasure hunt -wash Holly (she was in the pool with us so I went and got the baby shampoo) -shark attack -make Holly slide down playset
Then we came inside and played bake shop with the little kitchen in Mark's room. He cooked milk bones for Holly, then he cooked a variety of pretend stuff for me.
Then he wanted to play house. He was the daddy, and I was the little girl named Ginger.
He told me some stories, put me to bed, brought me grapes to eat, turned on the nightlight, then he told me it was time to wake up and go to music class.
He was the music teacher. We sang songs, then played musical chairs.
And then when I mentioned it was lunchtime, he made pb&j sandwiches while I made noodles. I told him I wasn't old enough to cook so he got out the tape measure to show me that I was a big teenager.
Yesterday, the boss at church called to ask if I would work on Mondays--all Mondays, permanently.
Of course I said yes because I was wanting to work this year.
The only problem with working Mondays is that Monday is the only Stay & Play day at Mark's preschool.
So I'll NEVER get to enjoy his one full day of school since I'll be working.
Otoh, I won't need to find any childcare arrangements for him, and he won't be mad at me because he'll be playing at preschool and not napping with the babies at Mothers' Day Out.
My boss lady also said if/when we got more babies, she'd add more days for me.
Now regular MDO workers get a discount on preschool (half off), so I'll be crossing my fingers that I'll get some kind of discount even if I am only working one day a week.
