jello experts anyone?!?!

so i just paid $3.99 for a 6 pack of sugar free jello in the fridge section.

:loser:

i bought it last week b/c jake needed it the morning of his surgery and i found out my kids LOVE it.  for 10 calories, it's totally worth it as a bribe.

but i am NOT going to keep paying $4 per pack.  :duh:

so, i'm wondering - for school lunches, couldn't i just make a batch of jello and then refrigerate it in those little gladware containers with lids?  is there any reason this wouldn't work?

if i do this, dyt i need to put ice packs in the lunch bags? (i didn't do this last year)

tia!

Do NOT put the lid on the little bowls though until after it has set...like right before you want to put it in the lunchbox.

My kids LOVE jello...I use the sugar free all the time.

I'd definately use an ice pack.

If they keep enjoying it, April, these would really be worth the price. We have them and love them, but they'd be perfect for that.

Good point, lol.

They are... they are super thick (like the batter bowl, if you have those), so I never really thought about it, and sent it all the time with Hannah. blush.gif

ok.  i hardly have any PC items, so i'm not that familiar with them.  i'm pretty sure i read something that said no glass in lunches, but i'll double check.

ot - i've been searching for some really good mixing bowls - especially big ones.  is that what you're referring to?

I'm a PC whore.

This is the one I was referencing  - They have a 2 qt and and a 1 qt. although I'm sure since you are looking for big bowls that those aren't quite large enough. I've had both for at least 6 years... Probably longer. We use them for everything.

this?

what does it do?  take the kernels off AND husk the corn? i'm confused.

i have never used the husking option, april, but the kernal removing blade makes stripping the kernals of the kids cobs way easier than using a knife. not that they don't eat corn on the cob, but sometimes they want it off and this works great.
