Dropping in for 2 minutes for a quick post.  I'm still around...RA training is going on which is 2 straight weeks for 14 hour days.  We are in the home stretch...students come back this weekend(ahhhhhh).  I'll be glad to have some semblance of normal again.  :)

My parent's just took my youngest brother off to school this weekend. Apparently it was a mad house!

I have to say we have an amazing system here for moving in over 3,000 students in a few hours.  Very diffused, pretty low stress for the student and parent.  Those of us facilitating it... well, you;ll find them at the bar shortly thereafter.

That sounds so interesting, Jenn.

I can't wait to hear how your year goes.

How are the boys? Did you guys get any of the Bill rain/wind?

Too far inland for Bill, though I heard about a 7 year old that died when a wave pulled her in at Acadia.  Terrible.  We got some light rain, but you'd never know it was from a hurricane.  What about you all?

I heard about that. So sad. The waves were amazing but you really have to respect the sea. It can be a very dangerous place.

We got a lot of wind and rain but nothing terrible. The waves were pretty fantastic.

Morning!

I'm working today, and it's Mark's first day at preschool with his whole class.

He'll be mad at me later when he realizes he has to go to a Mother's Day Out class in the afternoon and take a nap.

Henry and his friend had a great time here yesterday.

They played in our backyard quite a bit and played lots of Wii games.

Plus Henry's friend doesn't even live 5 minutes away so I took him home, then came back to drop off my kids (who wanted to ride) and still made it to the movies on time.

I FINALLY made myself get up early and go for a walk.

I am one pound away from my highest MSBL weight so I really need to get back into an exercise habit.

I also need to swear off cake.

I made a cake yesterday so my house would smell good for Henry's friend.

i have decided i totally HATE insurance companies.

i just got a bill for $3000+  because our insurance changed  and the hospital billed the wrong people.

luckily we are so far under bills that the hospital writes off anything our insurance doesn't pay.

HOWEVER - we have to make sure the wrong insurance company sends the hospital a request for overpayment and the hospital pays them. so far everyone is saying they never got information and the other is saying they did.

j.o.y.

Well...

DH is taking me to get my hair cut b/c I just can't take care of it like I want to. Most days I don't even brush it. I just tie it up and then go. And with hair as thick as mine- it needs two brushings or more a day just to get the tangles out and I don't often have time for that.
hmm
My hair. :sniffles:

So I'm going to get the dead ends off and see if I can get someone to thin it out a little b/c its just too damn thick. Arr.

And then we're going over some time this week to meet Samson! We're so excited. The cats not so much. Except our deaf cat who is oblivious to it all..Though I maintain she's telepathic and can read our minds and therefore knows. But that's my own eccentric mind at work there.
biggrin

And my friend is gonna come over later this week to hang out with the kids and I. That'll be fun b/c otherwise its just me up here on our little hill..

This week....Oh my!

Tonight is a fundraiser for Braydon's school at Culver's.
Tuesday Braydon has hockey.
Wednesday is a preschool meeting for Kaylin.
Thursday the flowers arrive for the wedding this Saturday.  My neighbor's son is getting married and somehow I'm in charge of making all the bouquets.

So should be a busy, busy week!

Good morning all!

I woke up with one of those feelings like the sh*t was about to hit the fan, so I'm spending most of the morning trying to shake it.  I think I'm just nervous about telling my boss on Wednesday and I probably dreamed about it.

No big plans for the week.  I keep trying to get Meghan to the zoo but it's hard since work has been so crazy and I have meetings throughout the day.  It sucks b/c this is really the last time it will just get to be Meghan and I home together.  Her next long vacation will be Christmas but I'll be really pregnant, tired and uncomfortable by then.

But Disney is only 3 weeks away so yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

Also, my parents and Mike's parents may be coming over this weekend to celebrate my birthday.  That should be fun.  The thought of my birthday coming has really put me into a funk the last couple weeks so I'm sure having the 'rents over will do me good.

Jenn- 14 hour days??!!  That's nuts!!!  I had no idea RAs went through so much training.  I'm glad things get back to normal for you soon!

Sonya- I can't believe you are listing this week!  YAY!!!  And I'm glad the realtor thinks the listing price should be higher than you guys thought it would be.

Sara- hugs about the bills.  I'm glad the hospital has worked with you guys though.  I have some preggo rage I've been suppressing.  If you need me to unleash it, let me know. biggrin

:wave Toni, Stacey, Robin and April!

Good morning!

We have a farily busy week.  Elizabeth start her new afternoon preschool Tuesday.  I am trying out some exercise classes on Tuesday and Thursday.  Thursday evening we have a meeting at E's morning preschool.  Friday morning is the open house for the kids at the morning preschool.  I need coffee to remember the rest. lmao.gif

It sounds like everyone is having busy weeks too.

Sonya I really hope your house sells quickly and you can find some very budget friendly people to do the work you need.

April you are probably gone by now but I am thinking of you and Jake.

Sara that is so great that Caroline and Mikey will be at school at the same time.

Jenn I don't envy you the back to school crowd even if it is orderly.  All the college students came here this weekend.  The stores are nuts and it's worse than Christmas when you are trying to find anything.  The traffic was pretty bad for here too.

:wave to everyone else that I am missing.

Hi all!

Nothing really exciting for me....I start school on Saturday (I am taking a day class). Don's classes start this week (his doctoral program and the classes he is teaching so he will be really busy). Ivy starts preschool on the 8th.

We *might* be going out of town on Saturday night/Sunday to a bed & breakfast. Don is playing a gig in wine country on Sat night and I said "why I don't come up and we can stay somewhere..." but alas, no overnight babysitter unless I can talk my sister into it :fingers

That sounds like it would be and awesome fun thing to do.  I hope your sister can watch Ivy.  Too bad you aren't closer or she could have a slumber party with E!  Elizabeth has been asking if we are going to play with Ivy. biggrin

I'll let you know and maybe we could get together while don is visiting his dad.

GM!

This week...Holly starts pre-K unless we hit a snag; the dates are pretty flexible w/this place but we want her to start ASAP. She went school shopping with my MIL yesterday (they were in town for a few days) and is SO excited.

Is she excited to go to school?  Is this her first year ( I am thinking it is).  I bet she just loves it.

Hi! Lots of stuff going on for you guys.

Sonya, good luck with the house! We're meeting with our realtor this week to probably lower our price again (2nd time). We started out kind of high just to see what the interest would be like, then dropped it and then got some interest again but no offers. We haven't had a showing in a few weeks, so it's probably time to drop once more.

We're not really in a hurry to get out (but getting impatient), so we've been keeping our price at around where some of the houses in the area have sold in the last 6 months. But I guess right now a lot of the buyers out there are first timers looking to spend less than what we're listed at. Oh, well. We would really like to try to make some money, so I guess we'll just sit and wait it out.
