So, I am usually a day late and a dollar short, but I got an AWESOME deal.  I have been wanting a tag reader for K since last Christmas but couldnt stomach $50.   They are coming out with a new tag reader, that holds 10 books in its memory, instead of just 5.  My target had the old ones on sale (includes one book) for half off ($24 instead of $49.99) and I was able to use this coupon for $10 off I got here:

I bought three total (one was a mismarked new version) for $14 plus tax each! (just print off one coupon per item)

The coupons are good until September 30.  Kmart, Walmart and Target are having sales on various leapster items, so if you are in the market, you may want print some off and have them handy.  There are coupons for the tag books, leapsters, etc.

So... I have two tag readers for $16 plus shipping if anyone is interested. If I dont sell them, these will be my salvation army gifts for xmas.

erin, i'm in the same boat as you in that i didn't want to pay $50 for that.

were they with the regular toys or on a clearance shelf?

i need to go back tomorrow if they have them still. i'd love to get one of these for em for xmas. then i'll just keep an eye out for the books on sale.

They were on an end cap in the toy aisle, but not the end next to the electronics, the end to the middle of the store. There was random stuff for sale on there.  My store had like 8 of them.

This is exactly what I wanted to get Ivy for Christmas too!! I can't wait to go check out my Target tomorrow.  (I have about 5 targets nearby so :fingers that one will have it)

erin, i would love one if you can find another one, but i hate to ask you to make another trip!

i need to kill some time today between the time i get jake out of the house and when we go to the surgery center.  if i can get there, i'll go by a target that i didn't call today and see if i can find one.  how can i get in touch with you today?  i know you can't get on the board at work.  fb?  i'll lyk if i find one.

Alright, I picked up a few more. 
So, Melissa, April, Leah, Tammy, I have one for each of you. I also have one more.

They ended up being $16 (that included tax) and shipping is $7.  (Ugh, I cant figure out how to make it less.  Flat rate boxes are over 9$ now!) So, its $23.  Which is still less than 1/2 the original price!

I gave Kiera hers last night.  She loved it and is getting the hang of it.

i got the LAST one at the second target i checked! now both my kids are getting tag readers for christmas because I got one for caroline a couple of weeks ago with a $5 off coupon so hers was $19.98

I didnt get any books.  None of them were on sale at my Target.  But, the coupons from the first post are good until September 30, so, I will be keeping my eyes open.  The Tag reader comes with one book already loaded, so thats will keep Kiera busy for a while.

Lizzy claimed my last one.  Glad I could help get them for others, I have rarely if ever found the deals at my target that others get, so Im happy to share!

My Target only has them marked down to 34.95.  Braydon doesn't use his much so I have no idea why I think we need another.
