Don't you just hate it that it takes moving to get you motivated to fix your place up? We did the same thing. Lived in our house for years, with a wish list of things we wanted to do. Decided to sell it, and finished up the wish list.
By the time we moved, everything looked so nice I didn't want to leave it!
dorian, i love checking in and seeing that you've been around.
we just got home.
i.cannot.wait.to.get.home.tomorrow.night.

i need a break from these kids.
jake is having his surgery monday morning (we have to be there at 11:15) so next week is going to be a LONG week too. :sigh: especially b/c matt may be away for several of those days next week.

omg, exactly what's happened over here too!
I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I wanted to jump in to say that I am so not surprised to hear this!!!
We have lived here almost 7 years, and have had a laundry list of things to try and get done, but between money issues, health issues, having babies, and a husband who is great at getting about 85-90% of a project complete, we just haven't gotten them all done!
Now all of a sudden, we have a fire lit and are doing the front of the house, the siding, the HVAC, the kitchen, the powder room, etc....
I just know that we will wrap it all up in time to decide we are ready to move on!!!
Good question! :thumbsup I have been sitting here thinking about this for a bit. I love that all of the things are popping into my mind and making me excited about the next few months. What a great way to start a Friday!
So, I am looking forward to Hannah starting preschool full time. She loves school and her teacher, and she is thrilled to start going "ebery" day in two weeks. It is way too fun to watch her learn and grow and love it.
I am looking forward to Ken figuring out what the heck he is going to do. He needs either a job, or for school to pull their heads out of the you-know-whats and give him the classes he needs to graduate come next May.
I am nerdishly looking forward to completing my christmas knitting. (Mainly so I can get onto more fun knitting).
I am looking forward to Vegas, baby!
I am looking forward to the next Twilight movie in November. :bag
I am looking forward to spending time with my mom and the end of September (she is having surgery on her foot and Hannah and I are going out to Colorado to take care of her for a week).
i hope she's feeling better as soon as you can get some meds in her. :(
I feel kind of bad for sending her in today. Last night, she woke up a couple of times before 10 and the last time, she was warm - i don't know from sweating or from fever - she doesnt' normally wake up so I gave her some advil.
she got up again ~6 hours later and was cool as a cuke so I figured it was just overheating.

i guess not. bad mom.
omg, you are crazy. that is not bad mom. i would have done the same thing!! it's so hard when they leave first thing in the morning b/c you don't have time to pick up on signs that there's something wrong!
Sonya, I hope Bill doesn't cause you too much trouble.
But leave it to Bill to be a troublemaker.
What I am most looking forward to is getting my car fixed at VW's expense (which I WILL fight if they try and deny us), and getting the list of house projects whittled down so we can really focus on saving up for a move.
Hmmm...what else. I'm looking forward to having a few hours to get things done without having to rely on my parents or drag the kids around with me, but that is a double edged sword because I am NOT looking forward to them going back to school. I am really enjoying them being home (for the most part!). I am going to have to make the most of TTh this year with them, and I don't even want to THINK about next year when Anna starts Kindergarten.
I am also looking forward to going to the SYTYCD tour in October!!! I think we will have fun, and I am hoping I can convince Bill to take off on Friday, since the show is on a Thursday night. Should be fun!!!!
