April, how is your visit going? It's so funny how a "vacation" like that can be so much more work than being home. Especially when you don't have Matt with you.

I can't believe you're about to go back to work. I'll miss you.

So, I somehow let my ipod headphones drag out of the trunk all the way home from town last week.

I ordered new ones from the Apple store (we get a company discount). They were shipped from China. I find that beyond bizarre. That must be SO expensive to do. I only paid $7 for shipping.

is it wrong that i'm giggle.gif about them hanging out all the way home?

no, lmao, it is hilarious.

the week before I left my keys in the trunk (mike was driving) and someone told us at a red light.

i'm banned from using the trunk now. lmao.

oh man, lmao.gif i wish i lived in canada. we could be bffs.

(i was going to say i wish you lived here but frankly, i don't like it here so ... it's decided - we should live by you)

i know a beautiful house you could buy! :) I'll give you a good price!

previous mention of direct hit by hurricane has removed your house from consideration. so sorry wink

We leave soon to go have the extensive testing done with Elizabeth to see if/what developmental delays or learning problems she has.  It's going to be a long morning and I honestly don't look forward to this.

We went to the afternoon preschool yesterday, and her teacher is really nice and Elizabeth wanted to stay and meet other kids there.  I wasn't too sure about this school but think we should also give it a chance.  I also asked about Elizabeth's screening, and the teacher looked at and then said, "Oh she did really well."  shocked.gif  So I guess we will see what happens.

We don't want to send the message that you can just quit if you don't like things, but since it seems like you either have to sign up for it now or miss the boat, we are going to try it.  If she likes it and it's working we will keep her in it even if she doesn't need it.

i hope the testing goes quickly and is less stressful than you expect.

Yesterday, I heard Josie yell, "I poopied" from the den. I went in to check - she always says poopied when she peed. but not this time. She pooped all over the floor.

And Charlie was sitting there watching her.

He tells on her for everything ("She's touching a book! She's touching the wall! She's looking at me" but he didn't say a word.

When I asked him why he didn't tell me, he said "It looked like chocolate candy"

awesome.

on a positive note, we never get earthquakes or tornados

and most of our hurricanes are just a lot of rain.

hmm .. is it weird that i'm more afraid of tornados than earthquakes? probably because i've never experienced an earthquake except a tiny one the morning bennett was born.

She's working on it. They are doing it with her at daycare and she does very well but I really think she is just too young. She does it when she wants to and when she doesn't, she just pees or poops wherever.

They took her on the bus yesterday with just panties on. They are either very brave or very stupid.  But she had dry pants all day.

I didn't know I was afraid of earthquakes until I went to teach in san francisco. I was petrified the whole time.

the IBM center was on the 21 floor of a big building downtown and i was shaking the whole time. I told the students that if there was an earthquake, I was going to pull a george costanza and push them out of the way on my way out the door.

Good morning all!!

Sonya- I am LMAO over here.  Charlie seriously has the best lines ever.  lmao.gif
I hope the hurricane isn't too harsh!  I've been keeping my eyes on it too but it looks like it will be well off coast for us.

Libby- :fingers that the testing goes well today and that pit in your stomach is gone VERY soon!  So glad you liked the preschool though!

Sara- I think the baskets are a great idea!  Good luck!  And we use pee pee and poopy around here too.  I can't imagine using anything else.

April- when does school start for you guys? And when are you coming home?  Have a safe trip!!

sonya, wow. i hope that hurricane is easy rain by the time it gets to you.  how scary.

i am most looking forward to going home. :X  and then getting into the school routine.  i hate that returning to school is just hanging over my head.

how long until you go home?

i bet you & the kids miss matt something awful.

we leave tomorrow afternoon.  i cannot wait to see the looks on the kids' faces when they see matt at the airport. heart.gif

we do miss him. :(

sonya, i'm still LMFAO about the headphones.  and the keys.  you are so awesome and i love you.  (btw, i'm SO excited about you guys no longer having to commute 10 hours per week.  it is going to be so good for your family.  AND it hopefully means you'll have more time for us. :D)

oh god, ditto on EVERY account.

this vacation has been good b/c it's great for my kids to spend time with my mom but OMG it is SOOOO much work.  this house is NOT babyproofed (think glass-top coffee table that is NOT attached to the legs. :ahhh)  but i miss my house and my bed and my routine.  and i'm still sort of resentful that matt couldn't work it out to come with us.  :glum:

i'm sad about going back to work too, but it is SOOO past time.  i'm ready to strangle the kids by 9:30am most days and that makes me feel like a terrible mother.  i'm just a better mom when i'm working i guess. :dunno:

April, I am a much better mother when I am working.

That makes me feel bad but my kids love daycare so much and I know it makes them better people so I don't feel that bad.

 Horray for Caroline.

I hope Mikey takes a lesson from her and gets his toy.
