I sweep my floor like once a week. Sometimes I have to sweep with the dustpan under the table after a meal. But with older kids there aren't a lot of meals eaten here.
i put 2-3 times a day. my kids make a big mess and they refuse to sit down with their snacks. cara is all over the place. plus they're always coming in with sand from the sand table and whatnot. it's easier for me to keep sweeping than to let them track all the crap through the rest of the house. so i sweep 2-3x a day, and i vacuum the whole downstairs every other day.
i sweep my kitchen probably twice or three times a week. i should mop/wash it more often than i do though.
the living room/hall & little kids' room i vacuum probably 4x a week. mostly because i love to vacuum (i know, i'm a freak) and i like the look/feel of freshly vacuumed carpet.
my bedroom does not get vacuumed nearly as often and not nearly as often as it should because it's kind of the catch all for all the stuff we don't know what to do with.

yep. This is me. Even down to my bedroom. The kids always want to know why they have to clean their rooms when my room is messy... ;)
I like to vacuum too, although I think I'd like it better if I had a Dyson or something like that ;).
I vote 2-3 times. One of those times is just for moon sand(I sweep it up and put it back in its sandbox). Raven is in and out a lot and gets very dirty outside. Since moving here I'm trying to keep a cleaner house. At my old place I probably vacuumed once a week and mopped even less.
I usually sweep sometime in the afternoon, one of the kids sweeps after supper, and if i look around or feel anything under my bare feet then I'll sweep again....i can not stand things sticking to the bottom of my feet...but I don't like to wear shoes or socks either...oh and I hate having dirty soled feet so I try to keep ahead of that. I swiffer sometimes once a day or every couple days, depending on my schedule or how bad the floor looks---like if people are not spot cleaning their messes.
Also, either one of the kids or I will vacuum at least once a day in the living room and hall. the bedrooms usually once a week unless it looks like it needs it sooner.
