So I'm wondering if anyone remembers the freakout I had a couple of weeks ago about George missing his interview because I gave him bad directions.

The HR lady rescheduled him for last week, and after the morning introduction, the manager scheduled him for a follow-up interview.

He ended up getting the job!!!!

He goes in today for a drug test, an in-depth colorblindness test (it's for a printing company, so he has to be able to distinguish shades of colors), and something else.

If it goes well, he starts a week from Wed.

After 8 months of unemployment, this is like a dream for us. It's a great job with an awesome company, super family friendly. The guy that hired him used to work in the position that they hired George into, and thinks he has the potential to move up quickly in the company.

Yay!!!

yay! congrats! that's great news. What is the job? and what a relief for you guys!

It's for a huge printing company (they print Newsweek, Time, and Playboy). He'll be working on a custom press, which prints custom inserts (basically the garbage you get in the mail that says "Congrats Alyssa, you've been selected to win $1000!")

It's an entry-level position, but it's a foot in the door of a REALLY good company, and there is potential for a great career for him.

The manager that hired him actually thought the story from what happened with his first interview was funny-apparently even life-long WI people hate driving through Waukesha.

do you mind telling me the printing company? Or pm-ing me? If it's the company I'm thinking of, you are right, it's a GREAT company. I visited their plant in Saratoga NY and knew a lot of people there when I was in NY. They all loved it.

I'm pretty sure we are thinking of the same place; Quad Graphics. I just opened the site, and damn, the Saratoga site is on the same street that caused all the problems last week (stoopid Duplainville Road!) That name must have something to do with the company.

My sister is actually neighbors with the CEO, and is a member of the playgroup his wife is in; she lives on the same lake as the guy who founded the company, so she knows how hard they try to make their employees happy (which is why we persued the company so hard).

It's good to hear that other people like it, too.

I'll post this in another area too but has anyone ever done the Zone diet?

I'm thinking about switching into that when my cleanse is done on Thurs.

I bought the book but it's boring me. Haven't gotten to the meal plan section yet.

how was your cleanse?  did you lose weight?  how do you feel????

i love doing stuff like that - i will totally need it in february fo sho!

Oh and I've lost 7 pounds, I'm on day 7.

what kind of cleanse?

It's an enzyme replenishing cleanse.

basically...

lots of fruit for breakfast
raw almonds for a snack
big salad with half and avocado and a little olive oil with red wine vinegar for lunch
apple slices with raw peanut butter for a snack
4 oz of salmon and veggies steamed no longer than 4 minutes for dinner

ok so I could totally do this. I'll probably want to eat my own hand by the end of the day but at least I like the food.

I once tried a liquid cleanse with this juice stuff. I psyched myself out before I started. I couldn't bring myself to drink it. So I drank diet coke instead, which defeated the purpose, so I figured why bother and got McD's for lunch.

Oh you can have unlimited hummus with veggies. I snack on the zesty lemon hummus and dip cucumber chips in it. The fruit and raw nuts are unlimited too.

All this talk about the Zone and cleanses makes me feel guilty.

I haven't even considered getting my diet in shape, which is obvious by the size of my (_Y_)

Speaking of which, I bought a new bathing suit earlier in the year, and haven't tried it on since I bought it. I was looking at it today, wondering if I should just do a Hail Mary, take it with me and hope it still fits, or try it on now and be depressed.

I hope this thread doesn't move... Mostly from a selfish perspective, otherwise I wouldn't care. But I think most of the talk that goes on in the daily chat thread usually doesn't get to so personal that making it private it a necessity.

But either way, gm ladies.

I'm super naucious, which is the work thing to wake up to on Mondays, and will now have to suffer in silence irl or deal with 8 million people asking me if I've poas, lol.

So, have you?

lmfao.

no.

and seeing as how I went Hannah's entire pregnancy without a bfp on a hpt, and have now had 2 false positives, I'm going to try to nip my poas addiction in the bud because it's a ridiculous waste of money for me.

I'll give you guys a shout out from my eventual episode on TLC's "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant."

that's it. They always had a huge Columbus Day party in NY too but I think that's just for the locals.
