Robin do you know who Henry's teacher is?

I know the teachers at Elizabeth's preschool from last year so that's good. She is also going to another preschool in the afternoons now and I have no clue about here teachers there. We register her at preschool 2 on monday and hope we find out the teacher then.

I am not looking forward to the start of this school year. I know E is going to be whipped by the time I pick her up in the afternoons. At least preschool2 starts a week or so before the other one.

I just met Henry's teacher at registration Tuesday. I think she'll be really good.

Mark doesn't start for a few weeks yet but his teachers are very sweet. Everyone always raves about them.

Henry's first day back at school is Monday.

Wow! Is he ready to go back? Do you like his teacher?

Yes, he is very excited to go back to school. All the 4th grader teachers are good. He got Mrs. Pulliam, and everyone has been raving about how great she is.

That has to ease the first day jitters a lot!  Yay for Henry!!

Wow!  I guess our schools start really late here! It's always been at least after Labor Day in all the NY and NJ schools I know of.

I guess that means you start work too, right?  Are you happy about getting back or could you have used some more time off?

We do start earlier than a lot of other areas. My first workday was yesterday, but since I had to move classrooms I've been in a ton lately :(
I could have used 3 more weeks off (give or take a couple of days) ;)

Chef you teach kindergarten don't you?  Is it all day there?

I do teach Kindergarten, and it is all day. I wish it were half day, though. That would be plenty!!

Henry was checking his school's website all summer to see which teachers would be teaching which grades.

They FINALLY updated it the evening before registration. Two of the 4th grade teachers were missing from the entire roster, and Mrs. Brown was in the 4th grade list and not in the 2nd grade list. (Henry had Mrs. Brown in 2nd grade.)

So at registration, Henry was surprised to see that Mrs. D (one of the teachers who was no longer on the list) was in the 4th grade registration room. We asked what she was doing there since she wasn't on the internet.

She had gotten married, and now her name was Mrs. Brown.

Henry's Mrs. Brown had retired.

So confusing.

Libby- remind me of the days again?  Are both preschools every day?

It's kind of confusing.  Her old preschool is MWF.  The second preschool is everyday in the afternoon.  I have been asking around and have heard raves about the second preschool, so despite my reservations I think it will be a good thing.  We are going to give it a whirl and see how it goes.  She has some more in depth testing done on the 21st and two weeks after that we will have better answers.  At that point we will know more about how things are going and what, if any, other options are out there.  You know if I just had that crystal ball this would be so much easier. biggrin

I'm happy we decided not to go to the beach tomorrow.

Now I get to sleep in tomorrow morning and I am going to sleep as long as I possibly can!

But then I'm going to be bored if we stay home all day so I'll have to come up with some kind of plan for tomorrow.

I wonder what's going to happen with our alternating sleeping in days once the baby is born. How long am I obligated to give those up for? Hopefully BF will actually work this time so then I would definitely get up or at least have Mike bring him/her in to me. But I keep telling myself that he wouldn't be able to handle it. Do you know how much crap he gets away with because I try to make things easy for him? If I can handle it, he should be able to at least get by (LOL). Let's see how I feel after the baby is born but I'd really like to keep my sleeping in morning. /rant

Goodnight.

I really thought you'd try to make "veteran" before you left.

I hear you on this one!  I can count on one hand the times I have slept in. bleh At least one nice thing about bf is once you get the hang of it you can feed and snooze.

I have no idea what you should do tomorrow but stay cool.  I am trying to think of some sort of family thing to do but won't be too time consuming.  It seems like we never get everything done we want to in a weekend.

I'm so glad you were able to get some real information about the 2nd PS!  There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying something out!  If it doesn't work, it doesn't work and you deal with it then.  I really do admire you for making the best possible decision you could be making for Elizabeth (or at least trying! A crystal ball would really be such a wonderful thing to have).

Deciding to alernate days on the weekend so we both have a day to sleep in was the best possible thing that we ever did.  We both LOVE our sleep so I was really resenting the fact that he always got to sleep in.  Why is that fair?  I don't think we started until Meghan was about a year (maybe a little earlier or later... I forget).

Meghan loves her mornings with Daddy too.  LOVES them.  They run around pretending their Mario characters, play some Wii, color.  He's much more fun with her since he doesn't have a gazillion hours every week to try and entertain her and still keep his patience.  LOL

You are so sweet! I think this would have been a little easier to handle if I was better prepared to have her gone that much and my son is moving into his own apartment this school year.  I am trying to decide what I am going to do with my time now.  When we register I am going to ask the teacher about volunteering.  I think it might be a good thing for me without being too time consuming.

I think that is a GREAT FANTASTIC AMAZING BRILLIANT idea Libby!!!  I'm sure they could use some help somewhere even if it isn't in E's classroom.

I asked to work but they didn't get enough children enrolled. On Fridays, they'll be combining 4 classes into 2 and sending THREE teachers home.

The boss lady said that she had plenty of people willing to work but not enough people able to afford to send their kids.

Stoopid economy.

I'll still sub if/when they need me.
