Should I act as a mediator between my mom & our neighbor?

I love and care about my mom very much. She is widow and I feel my mom is not satisfied. Our neighbor uncle and me very close friend. He lives alone here. One day while we were enjoying our drinks and both were intoxicated he expressed his feelings towards my mom. He wants to get engaged with her. He is promising secrecy and everything.
Should I convey this to my mom or should I help him to befriend with mom?
