Well we don't even have a backsplash just a satin finish paint behind our cooktop.
It has a lot of built up grease splatter and I'm trying to find the best product to get it off.
Help!!
This sounds insane, but it works on so many things. Buy one of the 3M dish wand scrubbers and fill with normal dish soap. Make sure the sponge is saturated wet. It works amazing on cooktops, microwaves, stubborn counters, and grease. And as long as you don't scrub crazy hard, it shouldn't disrupt the paint at all. http://www.amazon.com/3M-550-12-Scotch-Brite-Dishwand/dp/B0000CEW4O
It's what we tell our nasty college students to use so they don't get biled at the end of the year for not cleaning. Our college custodian tipped us off to it :)

I totally had a dream about this thread. ihni who I was talking to or who said what but the conversation was something like - "how can that possibly worth without rubbing the paint off?" It was funny. I was thinking about this and trying to remind myself to buy some of these next time I run to the store so it must have stayed on my mind when I fell asleep. ;)
