welcome bags for hotel ideas
Permalink

So apparently I'm getting married in five weeks!

We are doing welcome bags for when the guests arrive at the hotel. Just to clarify: There will be three bags. Yup. We are popular. And they are for my mom and her fiance, my uncle and his girlfriend, and my cousin and her husband.

So far this is what I've come up with:

Sunscreen
Flip flops
Chocolate
Maybe aloe or some after sun product
A note thanking them for coming

Do you think it's enough? Other ideas? For those that don't know, the wedding is in Cancun but I don't want to buy stuff once we are there cause at that point I'm considering myself on vacation. Also, the hotel is all-inclusive. I thought about doing bottles of water but that seemed annoying to fly with plus they can drink as much as they want. Sunglasses seem to personal preference

Also, we are not doing favors. We wanted to order these cute bamboo fans but we can't order just six.

I'd probably toss in a few snacks, or some kind of drink, like the bottles of water, or maybe some light beach reading but really I think what you have is fine. I think what would actually be better than focusing on adding anything additional would be to focus on packaging - whether that's wrapping the sunscreen in customized wrapping, or tying bows on the basket and sticking tissue paper that match the wedding colors. I'd put focus there - I think what you have is lovely.

my sister gave us monogramed canvas bags from lands end. I love mine and she put lip care stuff in there, deodorant, flip flops, lotion, band aids, etc.

great ideas! Thanks.

I've been looking up bags online to get ideas for what to use. I was thinking a canvas bag was the way to go. I'll check land's end. Otherwise I think Michael's has them but I'd have to personalize them myself.

I would also put a bag of snacky items that are local to where you're having the wedding.

I gave mine the monogrammed canvas bags as well!

I think something Mexican themed in there would be cute...maybe something like these:

or :

ooh! Great ideas. I love the jelly bean idea because they feel Mexican but I could still order them prior to arriving.

Those canvas bags are super nice. I'll have to figure out how much I should spend. Between the bag and flip flops it could get pricey. Maybe some stores will have cheaper flip flops out than I think.

April, I was just coming here to post that.

I love you guys! I didn't think I'd find cheap flip flops this time of year but they have them on old navy, plus the outfits we want the boys to wear, plus what Dustin wanted to wear, plus a new bathing suit for Ethan.

With a couple of online orders I can cross multiple things off my to-do list! Thanks so much!
