Oh goodness... Are you talking REALLY clean or just picked up vaccumed kitchen baths cleaned? My housekeeper and i just spent the past 10 days solid cleaning - but we did special stuff- i went through all closets, kids rooms, basement and organised/threw away stuff, and did the christmas decorating. She did special cleaning like windows (inside and out), ovens and fridge, scrubbing by hand kitchen and bathrooms, polish silver, wash all crystal glasses and cupboards, oil wood floors, etc. Plus the usual laundry and basic cleaning. Together we spent about 100 hours? We do this together 3 times a year. I need to to stay sane. I hate disorder.

I forgot time saving tips- i think my biggest tip is dont let it get out of hand- dont let stuff pile up. Laundry is done mon-weds-fri- items folded warm out of dryer and immediately put away. Pots and pans washed while cooking, dishes done immediately after. Each night I do a 30ish minute tour around the house picking up stuff while bert or cecile bathes the little girls, nothing is left on the floor at night... Just keeping up daily with the organisation makes the actual cleaning a LOT quicker.

right - i agree.  I am having a super hard time getting ivy to pick up after herself and it is a huge battle. i spent most of the day last week trying to get her to clean up and then i thought "it is so much easier if i just do it" but, that is setting the wrong example, i know.

I am not sure of what oil exactly - they are floating oak floors original to the house which was built in late 1940's - it is something the floor guys gave to us when they sanded and refinished them about 4 years ago.

I just got done cleaning the entire upstairs.

4 bedrooms and loft - picked up toys, put crap away, vaccuumed
2 bathrooms - scrubbed tub in 1, did toilets/sinks and mopped in both (still need to clear counters and scrub tub in master, shower will wait)

Took me probably a solid 2 hrs without stopping.

I'm beat but still need to clean downstairs after I get the kids to bed, and then pack. Whew!

It depends on how deeply I clean. If I just pick up and organize then probably 3-4 hours. If I do deep cleaning, then closer to 2-3 weeks.
