Santa brings two gifts, they stay unwrapped next to the tree instead of under. Everything in the stocking is also unwrapped.
Under the tree? Honestly, I don't know. I haven't wrapped yet. It has to be even whateverit is since we are taking turns this year. This momma was unimpressed with the rush the boys were in last year.
Usually, when i finally wrap (maybe tonight or tomorrow), I end up pulling some stuff to put back in the gift closet.
It has been so hard to follow when they are little, but I have always LOVED the theme of 4 gifts which seem to make more sense as they get older and gifts cost more: Something you want-Something you need- Something to share- Something to Read. My aunt also does sort of a neat thing. She only does three gifts- sympbolic of the three wise men. Currently, we do way more than that.
Way more then I want to admit. I honestly do not know the # yet. I plan to sort and wrap tonight. Santa brings most our gifts and the. There are joint gifts like board games, etc.
We used to do 3 wrapped gifts each--from us. That went out the window last year when the boys wanted to buy for each other, and Glen wanted to pick out stuff for them too.
This year, I think there are 6 wrapped gifts for each of them.
Santa doesn't wrap gifts. There are 2 Santa gifts for each of the boys plus a variety of stocking stuff.
I was thinking we had been pretty low key, but compared to some I suppose my kids get alot too.
I havent counted, but each kid gets a main present and stocking stuff from Santa unwrapped, then a few more from mommy and daddy. The few more include "needs" wrapped up as gifts, like shoes, some shirts, pjs, etc. We also make sure to do some books to each. So, there are actually only a couple "toys". Rhys has been easy to buy for this year and will have more than Kiera :( I am just not impressed with the toys for 6-8 year old girls.
They only get stockings from Santa. The rest is from us, probably about 5 or so. I've gone very low key this year cause I really can't bear the idea of more stuff in the house with my hoarder kids that never want to get rid of a thing. I used to go way over the top to compensate for the fact that since all our relatives send them clothes(much lighter and therefore cheaper to mail).
Mason is probably getting about 10 gifts this year. I feel like I overdid it a bit. Whoops. The sad thing is he only asked for 2 things, so why do I feel the need to buy him so much? I wish I would stop that.

i totally do the same thing, Crystal! she has about 5 things written on her list and two of them are out (Zombie Land and she wants the Timmy Turner character from the show Fairly Odd Parents). She is getting this puppy that walks (#1 on her list) and a guitar and art stuff (from her list). but then, I have her a dollhouse, a leapster, barbie dolls, etc. crazy town.

Dustin did this last year for Noah. He felt like it was his last year to spoil Noah because Eli was too young to know the difference. Maybe that's part of it.

I think for me it's because for the most part Joe asks for things that I know he won't necessarily play with/enjoy. But since I see him playing every day I can see what kind of things he would get a lot of use out of. Plus I think I am always on a quest to find something that will keep him occupied for longer than 30 minutes before he tells me he is bored.
Cecile and tim each got a laptop and a few other small things (abercrombie clothes, books, nail polish for cec, etc.) they and cate each have 5 presents.
Clara has a few more, maybe 8 or 9, but thats because i got her some american girl doll stuff and i wrapped each one separately- at her age its all about quantity and the unwrapping process lol!
I went more low key, bought everything and wrapped it all by end of november... I did not shop at all in december- it has been heaven!
The girls have a lot of packages, but some of them are small things (like fluffy socks, all of the annoying orange characters, etc.) I wrap everything, even the stockings-I guess because my parents always did.
A couple of the gifts will be labeled from Santa, the rest will be from us and my grandma (she gave us money to get them some gifts from her.)
I'm wondering why people don't wrap? I love watching the UNwrapping on Christmas morning....
I seem to be the only one where most of the gifts come from Santa. We get them a gift and the rest is from Santa. We wrap it all, but stocking stuff. Well, unless it is to big to wrap.
Reading this my kids are clearly spoiled and will be shocked in years to come when Santa brings less as the gifts get to be more $.

I don't write "from" on anything unless it's something I made (tie blankets) or something shipped directly to us from friends or family that I wrapped.
And Melissa our house is like yours. Way too much stuff
