Some of you gals inspired me last year....

...to get my Christmas shopping done early and I'm happy to report that I'm TOTALLY done!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

That along with some other stress factors that I've cut out of my holiday season will help me to actually enjoy Thanksgiving/Christmas this year.

I got 3 stress migraines in December last year. Unacceptable!

Now I will be baking cookies and watching Christmas movies with my kids and NOT counting down the days until December is over.

I'm about halfway done.

Waiting for the next paycheck before I do any more shopping.

That is awesome. I think I will be less stressed this year. I hope so anyway. I am not going crazy on gifts and I am trying to buy a little bit with each paycheck. I think I am going to get most of the boys' gifts done this weekend and Doug is getting one big gift so that will be easy.

That must feel so great!

I am done with my kids, all the nieces and nephews, and parents. I still have to buy for my in-laws and Ed, and they cause me the most stress. Have no idea what to get this year!!

You all are awesome.  We make the kids write Santa letters Thankgiving night, after which they can't change their minds.  So, Black Friday I should be able to finish up.  I don't think I'll have the flexible budget to pick up last minute Amazon deals this year.

Alicia my favorite gift to buy my IL's and a few aunts and uncles who buy us stuff are fresh wreaths. But I rarely get my butt in gear in time to get them sent in late November so they can enjoy them all through December. I did this year and even had to put a delivery date on it so they wouldn't send it too soon. I found a really cool one on redenvelope.com that has eucalyptus in it which is very AZ and I had a 15% off coupon code. Just an idea.

Kristi, thanks for the idea! My in-laws are not very materialistic people. My MIL has worn the same "worlds greatest grandma" sweatshirt for years and could care less about jewelry or "stuff" in general. They are impossible to buy for! They would probably really appreciate a fresh wreath. I'll have to look into it!

But we also try to spend a significant amount of money on their Christmas gift since my MIL is my daycare - and has never charged us a cent! In the past, we have gotten them a tv, dvr for a year, play tickets. We really feel like we owe them and Christmas is the only time they will take gifts willingly. I stress about this gift every year.

What about a kindle? The big one that you can read the newspaper on. We got that for MIL last year. I also look at old oprah's favorite things lists to get ideas every year. Another good thing we get from my aunt and uncle every year are omaha steaks. Their filet mignons are awesome!

It works for us, we tell the kids that Santa and his elves need a lot of time to make or get all those toys and it just isn't fair to keep changing minds.  :)

This popped up on my news feed as the daily deal for our local TV station.  Omaha steaks http://www.dealchicken.com/shreveport-la  I don't know normal prices, but it seems pretty good.  The deal usually only lasts for one day.
