I would say yes the bundle with an extra controller or two.  We got ours 2 years ago this Christmas.  We really do not have a lot of games.  That first year we just played the heck out of the game that came with it - it has fun bowling, tennis, golf.  We still play that one a ton as a family.

If you get Mario Kart you should get an extra wheel so two people can race against each other.  we got an extra Nerf wheel (which is really better than the one that came with the game I think) for $10.   We didn't get Mario Kart right away - it's been one of our latest purchases.   I hate it - I can't stay on the road evileye

Most of the games I got when on sale (watch slickdeals.com).

from jake these are his favorite games:

lego star wars

super hero squad

bakugan

Honestly, we are just not big game people. However, I do use my wii daily for netflix, lol. I think we forget about the games. I am sure we will use it more with the weather getting colder. The girls love Mario cart and dance kids a ton. Also, we do use all the sports on the games that came with the package.

Game nerds. :)

Mario Kart is a must..We only have one wheel, so we take turns as to who gets to use the wheel. You can still play the game w/o the wheel but you know how kids are...Everybody's gotta use it at the same time...But you can totally play the game w/o it..When we do two player, one person uses the wheel, the other person uses a plain wii-mote..

We also have Wii Sports Resort which has a slew of activities. The only downside is that it needs the Wii Motion thingy...Again, we only have one..But if you get two, then you won't have to take turns on one wii-mote. But it really is a lot of fun.

We also buy Wii Points and download the old school games like Mario, Mario 2, and Mario 3...And some other games like Ice Hockey and Legend of Zelda games (kind of advanced for a 6 year old player but Colin loves to sit with me while I play).

I also use it for the EA Sports Active which is one heck of a good work out. And I play other games like the Harvest Moon franchise, which the kids like too b/c of the farming and animals. We're also HUGE Lego nerds, so anything Lego is always a riot. :) My personal fave is Lego Star Wars. Lego Indiana Jones isn't bad but its not our favorite.

We use our Wii a lot. All through the summer, etc when its too hot to go outside until after dinner...Winter, etc.. :)

I am not a game person at all but we really do enjoy the wii, especially in the winter.

It came with sports and sports resort. Those are great for the whole family. You can sword fight, bowl, play ping pong. We did a lot of family game night contests in the winter.

Boys also love lego star wars and lego batman. We just got lego pirates of the caribbean.

We also have Mario Kart and Punch Out although we use those a lot less.

Netflix is also great.

We have had a wii for about a year now. (I'm actually watching Sister Wives on Netflix via the Wii while I type this) I'm not a big gamer either but I don't regret getting a wii at all.

Our wii bundle came with wii sports and wii resort and that was all we had for the first few months and it was just fine. Then we got gamefly to check out other games for a while (I signed up for a free month under swagbucks and earned like 1,000 swagbucks)

Luc and I both love Just Dance 2 and the games on the wii fit (we got really lucky and a friend just gave us her wii fit board and game!)

His fave game is Lego Harry Potter. He bought it with his birthday money and beat it about a month ago but still plays it ALL THE TIME. He also got super hero squard for his birthday but has only played in a time or two.

I also have Zumba for the wii.

We've never played Marion Cart. I am always so bad at driving games.

Mario party and Wii party are a lot of fun. We rented them on gamefly.
