I am going to try and bite the bullet and buy the kit so it will force me to do it ;)  I am wavering on the color though.  right now, my cabinets are cherry. I am thinking of going darker, but it is so hard to find examples of dark kitchen cabinets I like.  I really wish I could do white, but with our appliances (we have off-white) there is no way the cabinets would look good :(  I am also going to paint the countertops (they also sell a kit for that, as well).  and do a tile backsplash of white subway tile.

Liz, my friend has an off white kitchen (kind of antique-ish looking). it looks great. Would that work with your appliances?

That's an idea!!  I might try googling some off-white or cream kitchens.  I just hate my appliances and there is no way we can or should replace them.  Our house in springfield is where our money should be going ;)

oooo fun ideas - remember when we were obsessing over my cabinets? you found some GREAT cabinet ideas in those searches - white, antique white, and black- remember? they were in the shabby chic/DYI category...i wish i could remember some of those sites...what's your floor like again?

kelly - what would you do with that wall? It is drywall over brick. there is not alot of space to do much b/c of the door that opens into the room. i was thinking of a wire shelving unit.
