What are you getting your firecracker for their birthday? (Particularly girl moms, but I'm open to all suggestions)
Alexandra told me just to "get her something I'd think she would like." This from the girl that has been asking for a toy every 2 seconds for the last 2 months, and I told her to ask again for what she really wanted when her birthday rolled around.
And now, this.
What she really wants, I think, is a kitten. Our puppy (the worst decision of my life, although it's getting MUCH better) just turned one. Am I mad for even considering it?
I will be watching this for ideas. We are in the same.boat.even.down.to.the.kitty. She has been asking for music cds. She has an old Iphone of mine with a cracked face. We are getting that replaced, a new case and putting some kidsbop type music on it (she wants grown up music... I need to find that old thread about good pretween music) to go with some new games/apps. I also got her a color changing docking station/speakers for the phone to replace her hello kitty cd player in her room.
We are getting Natalie a new bike. She needs a bike that she can learn to transition from training wheels, but that also isn't too small that she is going to grow out of in a year. She has been riding the boy's bikes.
We got Juliette a bike last year, and ran out of ideas this year, so I actually took her to toys r us (under the premise that we were looking for gifts for a friend's party). I bought her a small pack of calico critters, which she has been playing with obsessively. So we ended up getting her some accessories, a house, and some additional little guys.
I was contemplating iPod, but I just want to encourage her little side for a bit longer, lol!
No girls, but we are doing Imaginext play sets, a couple Thomas trains (yes, we areat the tail end of being too old for it- butI'm in no rush if they aren't), a few Cars2 things.
And some clearance stuff I can't remember from after Christmas- so must not be too exciting.
My kids are already talking about Christmas. Seriously? slow down.
I love the kitten idea ;) since that is definitely off the table over here, I am going the Barbie route - she loves them and every time we go to the store she asks for different ones. i am also thinking of a barbie house (but will prob save that for christmas). i also got some clearance toys at target in January but she might actually be outgrowing them (it is a baby doll set and the baby doll that walks). :(
this really is a hard year isnt it. R isnt into that much stuff at the mo', and she says she's bored of all her stuff. also doesnt have any ideas about what she'd like. i ordered her a care bear, a big uglydoll (of course), and one of those little momiji dolls she's really into, and i'm going to pick up an art set and maybe a craft project. my mom said i can get her a bike helmet and an easel from her.
We hardly got Anna anything. She didn't ask for much, and didn't want a lot, and we just don't have much space around here. She has a bike and a scooter, and there is NO WAY I would buy her a pet at this point, so it was limiting. Her fave gifts this year (from us or others) were:
-light up hula hoops -rapunzel tower (not the one for the barbie sized dolls-the small one) -roller skates, though she stinks at it so far -singing dolls from the Disney store
I think that is it. She was happiest with the first two and could have stopped opening gifts after those, lol.
Hannah's big gift is my old laptop - I got a cute skin for it, and I am fixing it up, so she may not even recognize it when it comes down to it.
She's also getting some Sing It games for the PS3, that she'll get to play at her karaoke/rockstar party, and some super cute shoes (a fun pair, and then a really cool pair of slightly more practicall but still really awesome pair of Sketcher Twinkle Toes that are for school. (Poor August birthday, getting school things I'd have to get her anyways as gifts. At least she doesn't have winter birthday siblings that are getting the same things, lol.
