Etsy Question-I want it fixed...

Okay, I ordered some custom shirts on Etsy.  The Big/Lil Sis shirts turned out perfectly, and the shirts are very nice quality, I was happy with that.

BUT, I ordered Katie another shirt that is supposed to read, "I'm a Big Sister (picture of puppy) All I wanted was a puppy."  I sent her a specific message asking for the word "wanted" to be in italics.  She said fine.  I got the shirt today and she put "wanted" in quotation marks, not italics.  I tried to say it's no big deal, but honestly, it annoys the hell out of me.  So I sent her a message, she responded, but basically just said she was sorry for the misunderstanding.  She did not respond to the part where I asked her if it can be corrected, and telling her that I'd send the other one back to her.  (I would think she could sell it to someone else who wouldn't be as annoyed.

What do you think?  Should I just suck it up and deal with it - do I even have a choice?  Should I press the issue with her that I want it fixed?  The shirt is really cute, except for this little detail....

(I think I've attached a picture...)

I don't know what the etsy rules are but I think it is appropriate to get what you ordered. You didn't get what you asked for and ITU it bugging you. It's super cute but the quotation marks don't make sense and it's not what you asked for.

If it were me I wouldn't ask if I could get it fixed I would request it. I would just say that it wasn't done teh way it was ordered and you needed one that was as ordered.

The shirt is super cute but the quotation marks bug me. I think I would tell her you need it fixed. I think if the word WANTED had just been in normal print I might have let it go but not the quotation marks.

OMG, that word in quotation marks would drive me crazy, and I would laugh to myself if I saw someone wearing that shirt. (Because using quotes like that makes it seem sarcastic, rather than emphasized which is what you were going for.)

I would probably respond asking if it can be fixed. She didn't give you what you ordered and paid for.

That would drive "me" crazy, and "I" love sarcastic "quotes."

;)

Ita with the others... Kindly but firmly ask for her to fix it. And if that doesn't work ask not so kindly and firmly. I've found that a majority (an overwhelming majority, in fact) of Etsy sellers are easy to work with and quick to please, as opposed to places like Ebay, where sellers just want good feedback scores, or want you to shut up.

Thank you for your opinions and I'm glad you all agree with me! I'm going to send her another message right now....I am such a whimp when it comes to confronting people.  I have no idea why.

OMG. So I sent her a message asking her to redo the shirt. I told her as soon as she confirmed for me that she could/would redo it I would put the other shirt in the mail to her.

She replied saying that she was sorry it didn't work out, and as soon as she got the shirt back she would refund the cost of my purchase! Really!? I mean fine, I'll get my money back, but why wouldn't she just redo the darn shirt! I know it's silly, but I was really excited about this shirt - it is sooooo Katie. She asks everyone (us, grandparents, babysitter, etc.) to buy her a puppy - even though we have two dogs. She is puppy obssessed. I'lll just find someone else to make it. AND, this chicks 100% positive feedback rating is getting ready to go DOWN.

I am sorry things turned out like this. I do have a suggestion. I realize Jayna just had a baby not long ago, but I think she does similar types of embroidery things. You could ask her. She has made a couple of capes for me special order and she did an excellent job.

As someone who has sold on Etsy don't jump to negative feedback too quickly. She "is" (sorry I couldn't help it) fixing the situation, granted you just wanted her to do another one, but by refunding your money she is rectifying the mistake. IMO the feedback should still be positive and state that one of the items you received wasn't as ordered so the seller refunded your money.
