Thinking about what your kids interests are right now what do you think would be an ideal job for them? And also does that match what they say they want to be when they are older?
Joe is obsessed with the Titanic right now and any kind of geology (rocks/fossils/volcanoes etc). I think he would love to be the curator of a natural history museum. If I were to ask him what he wants to be though he would say policeman.
Bel is the complete opposite of Joe (he is always so passionate about everything) and doesn't have any obsessions yet. I think she would be great as a preschool teacher since she has such a caring attitude. She actually wants to be a doctor and part time princess
lucy, it's too bad you don't live in NJ. my uncle is a titanic historian, has written multiple books on the titanic and used to be the president of the titanic society. he would probably have some amazing stories for joe!
Koda currently wants to be a train conductor, OR build a new Titanic that doesn't sink (LMAO).
Tristen wants to be a police officer and write tickets.
lol is he going to name it Titanic too? Joe keeps saying something similar and insists it should be called Titanic , he doesn't understand when I try and explain that no one would want to go on it especially if it has that same name.

Very cool April. He has been watching all the videos from submarines that go around the wreck and wants to go see them himself.
Hannah wants to be a vet, a chef, and a doctor, so she's decided she wants to be a scientist who invents medical food for sick animals. I hope she's paying for college, lol.
At this point, I can see Charlie as a scientist of some kind. He's very very inquisitive and very focused on the way things go (think sheldon from Big Bang without the giant brain, lol).
He says he's like to be a paleontologist or an oceanographer or a professor. I can see all of that.
Josie told me this morning she wants to be a street.
Like the street we live on.
The other day she wanted to be an ice cream shop.
I see actress, performer (hopefully not a stripper, lol), or conman in her future.
Maybe a lawyer. Or an author - she's all imagination.
I hope they are both rich because they are our retirement plan.

sonya the way you worded this really cracks me up.
R wants to be a babysitter for C's kids, so that C can go off and have a career - how's that for ambition - LOL. she also wants to wait tables.
i see two majorly amazing traits in R so far - one is her ability to make up a story - she comes up with some really awesome ideas and has a sharp sense of humor. we've been writing some of her stuff down. the other great trait in R is her ability to solve problems so that everyone's happy. she can thwart a cara-tantrum like no other - she thinks on her feet really quickly and can negotiate really well. i dont know what that will translate into - she'd be a good teacher - or a good lawyer.
c wants to be a princess, but only the kind that wears certain kinds of dresses - NOT strapless.

hahaha- these are great
this is amazing to me - i feel like im not teaching my kids enough. R would have no clue what the titanic is. or a fossil for that matter (thinking of joe's interests). i need to get these kids to a museum. we had a kid over recently who was obsessed with planets and R was like - ????? yikes. she knows earth and mars but i dont think she has any conception of it at all.
I must have the only child who does not talk about what she wants to be. I mean she honestly never says those kinds of things.
She has a crazy memory and great ability to relate things out of context. I see her doing something like engineer or architect type. However, really not even sure. She has some time ;) Allie actually really likes music also. She will be starting either piano or violin in the fall and I can see her really getting into this. She also does not like to fail, so if she is not good at something, she tends to move on. Not the best trait, but I guess she at least knows what she likes and does not.
Mia, well, she is just crazy kid. Hard to tell yet. She has such a strong personality, very outgoing, loves to sing, and loves music. I am pretty sure she will be very athletic, but not sure on the academic front yet.
Ethan wants to be an author/illustrator, a scientist/palenthologist, a banker, and a superhero of course.
(He thinks I'm an author-guess I sort of am, Dustin is a scientist, and EJ is a banker. Go figure.)
He has a great imagination but he's also really inquisitive and good with math. He also has this way with people--he is hilarious and kind hearted, people just love him.
I have no idea what that adds up to but I'm very curious to find out.

Joe loves the Magic Tree House series and gets inspired and obsessed with whichever one we are on right now - though his Titanic thing has survived the American Frontier one and the Indian Tiger one.

R doesnt talk much about it either - she isnt really a special-interest kind of kid. she only says babysitter and waitress if pressed. and R is the SAME WAY - if something doesnt come easily, it's dead to her. this is something i think we'll have to work on as she gets older.
and WTF, some random dog just walked up my driveway...
I sincerely hope my girls will get to be just moms when they grow up. If they can't, I think Rebecca will be a dancer or a dance teacher. I'm not sure about Crystal. She's interested in a lot of things and has a lot of confidence, but she's really only very good at humor. Kyle is only interested in games. It's a fight to get him to do much of anything else. He likes taekwondo and is decent at it, but he won't want to do it all the time. My guess is he'll be into computers like his dad. I'm not sure about Brenna or Brittany yet. Brenna likes ballet and is very good at it, but she has a ton of energy and not a lot of patience so I'm not sure if she'll like it enough to do it all the time or not. Brittany doesn't seem to have any real interests at all. She likes ballet and she likes math but she's much more interested in pleasing people and getting them to like her, which worries me. There's so much potential for a bad self-esteem. She does like to read and is beginning to like writing and making up stories, so maybe she'll be a writer.
Gavin brought home a book and one of the things was when I grow up I am going to be...and he wrote artist. I'm totally not surprised. He is really creative and for his age I think he is pretty skilled at drawing and that kind of stuff. It's definitely one of his talents that I see. I have no idea if he will continue to be interested in it but I sincerely hope that they can grow up and do something they love. I could also see Gavin being an architect or engineer or something technical like that. He is so fascinated with transformers. I mean, he loves them as toys but the whole process of transforming them and all the intricacies really holds his attention.
Owen - I have no idea. He is smart, fun and creative. I could see him doing so many things. He is such a comedian and jokester. No doubt wherever he ends up he will make the most of it and have fun doing it.

Owen and Josie can take their show on the road. Look out world!
