I am starting to get really excited about Lucas' birthday, even though it is still about 6 months away. His favorite super hero is Captain America so we are doing that as his theme. The movie comes out the week before his birthday so hopefully they will have party stuff on the market then, if not I know I can get July 4th stuff on super clearance
Right now we are talking about doing a big Diva Jam session.... We're talking about getting Hannah a Karaoke machine, guitar, and a (small, small, small) drumset. So, if we do that, we'll base the party around that, and her girlfriends will come over to jam. Truth be told, it's all inspired off the cupcakes.
We had been talking about a My Little Pony party, so if she decides to go back to that, I already have tons of stuff prepared. But, I'm really excited about the new party, so I'm hoping it sticks.
I am actually starting to think about this. With Allie's B-day in July, we have not had a class birthday party yet. Most kids are gone. This year I want to have a class b-day party in June for her. However, I am clueless as to what to do.
I need ideas. I was thinking maybe the park and they have a splash pad and play ground there. So, I need to figure out what to do. Do I keep it simple and just let them play or do I have an activity? I need food and favor ideas. I do not want to break the bank, but want something fun.
Gavin wants to do his birthday part at Monkey Bizness again. It was great last year. We will most likely do it right at the beginning of June and it will be a joint party. Owen's b-day is June 8th and Gavin's in July so we will be able to catch their school friends and it isn't too far off from their real birthdays.
I think we can have 25 so we will invite Owen's class (there are 9 other kids) and then the boys from Gavin's class. That should leave us with a few other kids we can invite that don't go to school with them.
Hannah really wants to have a party at a local place called Freedom Station. They have arcade games, a climbing wall, a big three story soft play area, etc. It's pretty expensive though so we may have two parties. I may do a little get together there with a few of her closer friends from school then do a big family party like we do. Timing could be difficult because the weekend after her birthday we are taking her to Disneyland! We are so excited. She has no idea and won't know until she opens one of her gifts which is a really cute 3 piece luggage set I got her that I am going to put Disney stuff in :) Theme wise I think she want's dogs again. She loves dogs. Guess we will see.
I am looking at ideas for Mr. B's party as well. I think this will be the theme as he is obsessed with trucks etc. I think there are so many options with the primary colors. Thanks to some insane deals at Christmas I am done shopping for his birthday except for his first bike, we got Hannah hers when she was 3 and it was perfect.
I decided a couple years ago that I would switch off each year doing a big party for one or the other. So, for K this year, she is getting to invite a couple of friends only. We are talking about her first "real" sleepover party, but, it will depend on her friends' parents ok. Maybe a mani/pedi etc.
Im not sure about Rhys. His is in May. We will invite our usual group of friends/parents, and a couple from his school. Im actually thinking a bounce house at a park would be up his alley for this year and not too crazy expensive.

I like the bounce house in the park idea... We were thinking about doing Peter Piper Pizza but it's usually so nice in May here an outdoor party would work.
I am laughing so hard at this thread, because not only have I not even thought about SG's birthday party, I haven't even had one for Kenley, and her birthday was in JANUARY!
I want to combine Mason and Peepers' parties because their birthdays are a month apart. Since Mason is Mr. Social Butterfly and his bday is before school gets out, we're probably going to have to invite his whole class (25 kids) and his other non-school friends, and family friends and Peepers' friends.
So it's fairly overwhelming. I found a playplace/coffee house that we could reserve for a Saturday afternoon for a certain $ amount in food and beverage purchases, and it would work really well for both age groups. I need to get more information first, but I think it's going to be our best option.
I would totally just not do a party for Peepers, LOL, but we didn't have one for her last year because we went to Disneyland for a few days for her birthday. So she needs one, and I'll still probably have a mini-party for her on her birthday with her best friends whose moms are my close friends.

Wow, I love those cupcakes. I love the thought of doing a music party before because it's super fun to pretend to be a rockstar

I think the splash pad at the park could totally be your activity. We have a park with one and the kids are so happy running around getting wet.

We were going to do this same thing but it was going to be such a hassle and a lot more expensive than we thought. We don't have a truck so they would have to deliver and pick up and that extra charge made it ridiculous. By the time we did that and did everything else, it would have been close to the price we paid to have the party at Monkey Bizness. Not to mention it was so much easier to have it done there, even Doug said we should just do something like this each year and he was originally against it because of the price.
Normally when we do an outdoor party I feel like we have to feed people and have a bunch of food. That adds up. Having it at Monkey Bizness we just did dessert and it was perfect.
Kyle says he wants a How To Train Your Dragon party, with a dragon cake, and he wants to have it at the same indoor bounce house play place he had it last year
we'll see about the location
I would like to be able to invite his friends/classmates so we might think to have it before school out
and then in July we'll have something for family, since Dom has a huge family we need separate parties anyway
I'm thinking about having his bday party in Aug after school starts and inviting his new classmates. Sort of a get to know each other party. Someone else did that last year and it was really great.
We'll have it out somewhere. Just need to decide where. So far Ethan wants a Scooby Do theme so I'll have to figure out how to work that in.

Ohhh that is a good idea about pushing the party until school starts!
