Sooooo some of you know already from FB that James and I are officially getting married this August =) (we have been together 7 years but we've known eachother since diapers)   I know how many creative minds are on here!  So I'm going to pick your brains till it bleeds lol

The wedding colors will be Tiffany Blue, Orange, Pink Fuschia and some bit Chocolate brown.

It's going to be at James' mom's property which is a lakefront and it'll be outdoors.

So far I've decided on lighting up the entire house with white lights (think christmas lights) and will have pink fuschia, aqua and orange paper lanterns here and there and rope light on the dock.

I need table centerpiece ideas!

Flowers... I'm thinking along the lines of Orange and Pink gerbera daisies (sp?) with white or blue flowers (I have no idea on blue flowers...which would work best).

We're thinking of doing something different w the cake.... doing cake pops instead =) (probably without the stick) of pink, orange and aqua (tiffany blue) then a regular small two layer cake for me and James to cut and keep one for 1 year anniversary.

There will only be two bridesmaids and two groomsmen.  2 bridesmaids are my sister and soon to be sister in law.  Groomsmen will be one of our best friends Kyle and of course our son Van =)  Ava and Liv will be the flower girls (liv will be in a wagon or something that Ava can pull her in as she'll be only about 4 months old by then).  About 175 invited but of course not all are going to show up.  But at least you can get idea of how many people I'd have to accomodate =)

We are going to do mexican food... (think a taco truck type thing... yea ghetto? no I think not! haha My cousin had that at her wedding in Cali last year and it was SO delicious and they made one the best salsa I've ever had!) I'm a mexican food freak and who doesnt like mexican food right?!  There will be a variety of fillings so it will accomodate vegetarians and meat eaters =)

People will be camping out on the property who are staying the night.  It's actually a 3 day party LOL but the main event falls on saturday.

SO BRING ON IDEAS!!!! I don't want to turn into a bridezilla hahaha....

if you know of a good site where I can get bulks of warm white led lights and stuff for house and all.  Pass it on please!!!  I have one so far which rocks www.save-on-crafts.com

Also, any ideas for wedding dress sites that you have had good experience with? We're styaing on the low end budget for dress because I plan to trash the dress after the wedding in the lake within a few hours after all the photo ops, etc.. then will do a jumping in lake photo and floating away on black innertubes with "just married" on the back... that type of thing =)

Sorry I'm rambling on and on.... just wanted to give you ideas of what the wedding will look like!! =)

eta: I would love some invitation inspirations too... not feeling any from what I've been finding so far...  I have a family friend who said shes willing to make them for me.

Very cool! Love your ideas so far. Those bright colors sound like the bouquets of flowers they sell at costco. You could pick up a bunch of those and spread them about yourself (I mean, your helpers) in vases, or tied in bows for bouquets, etc, for a lot cheaper than getting a florist.

Yeah the problem is the wedding is in August and i can't really know if Costco will carry these by then... thats what sucks!  How long before the wedding do you usually do flower hunting?

Yay! Congratulations!

I'm wedding obsessed - I can't wait to see all your details come together (btw, since you are looking at touches of blue for your bouquet, have you thought about doing berries, something like this)

Enjoy it! Planning is *so* much fun!!! A 3 day soiree... I love. You'll have such a wonderful time.

I was just coming to post something similar about destination weddings. You have a lot of great ideas! And who doesn't love Mexican food!

I had blue delphinium in my wedding bouquet. It was very pretty.

I'm not sure what you consider inexpensive but a friend of mine just told me Ann Taylor has a wedding dress line. I'm probably doing a colored dress and they had some cute bridesmaid dresses too. Also try David's Bridal. I'm not sure about other wedding dress sites. Wedding dresses tend to be sized differently so I would probably try on dresses in a store before ordering.

Could you do something simple for table decorations? Maybe some candles/tealights and some scattered flower petals? Probably wouldn't be too expensive and would create great ambiance.

Unless her house is large enough to accommodate the crowd, I would definitely consider getting a tent just in case it rains. It rained for my brother's outdoor wedding but we were under the tent and all was good.

Keep us posted!

Alyssa- for sure theres a tent being rent!  No way the house would be large enough to accomodate that many people LOL

Inexpensive as in probably something under 150, I know there are steals for gorgeous dresses out there I just have to keep my eyes peeled.  Damn being pregnant I cant really try on till after and all but I can get ideas of the stores themselves.

Yes, table decorations can be as simple as possible.... we are doing most of what we can do by hands, we have people volunteering to help out.... like bouquets, table decos, invitations, programs, etc...

Doing some landscaping work as well...

The rest will be bought... like lights, paper lanterns, etc...

weve got tent, chairs, tables, runner, tablecloths all rented.

I just really need inspirations for bouquets, invitations, and centerpieces.

Here are some ideas and some of these things you could start buying ahead at places like Michaels and use their 40% off coupon

Use clear or colored glass bowls to float candles

Buy the silk petals and trail them down the tables

Use glass mirror tiles (from a home improvement store) and set various height candles on them

The colors you describe also remind me of fruit too. You could use berries and peaches on a plate and with a candle in the middle or put them in a bowl. Edible centerpiece

You could buy cheap margarita glasses in your colors and put the fruit or candy in them in clusters on the table and/or for a party favor

Use sand buckets in the wedding colors and fill them with sand and shovels or colored popcorn, suckers, or a bunch of those party horns or anything you can think of

Balloon bouquets would be cheap and versatile.

I don't know what time of day you are talking, but tiki torches might be good to have too.

Vista print has some inexpensive invitations.

If you wanted to do something a little less formal you could also do casual invites and put some confetti inside them or some other little surprise.

You can also get a photo of your liking and then go to someplace like shutterfly, SAMS, walmart and have photo wedding invites printed.

Sometimes simple is best for bouquets. You might want to consider having a single large flower for each bridesmaid. Another option might be an orchid.

Bridesmaids don't have to carry flowers. They could carry a fan, umbrella, balloons, or whatever is your heart's desire.

Congratulations! Everything sounds beautiful.

For invitations, maybe you can take a pic of the lake/dock at sunset (or any time) and have that printed on cardstock with some transparency and then use a tranlucent vellum overlay with the wording, and then tie together with ribbon in one of your colors

it's hard to describe, but something like this: http://www.designsbyannmargaret.com/images/DIY_vellum_wedding_invitations.html

I did this for my Navajo wedding, had a pic of a Navajo wedding basket underneath the vellum. They turned out great.

The wedding will be at about 1pm.  But will go on all night.  floating candles sounds good prob wont be lit durin the day since can see but at night it will come in handy aside from the lighting we will have up.
