Sorry I havent been around lately so I feel bad posting this but I was wondering others opinions before I go to the doctor and look like a lunatic for it being normal.
Raymond doesnt run very well. Ive always noticed it looks like hes walking on the inside of his foot even though its flat on the floor. He went to an orthopedic i think and they said his tibia was slightly turned but not of a concern. No xrays were done as he was way uncooperative that day.
I was looking at Kaylen today and she has the same issue but I think more severe. Its mostly on her left foot and only slightly on the right. Everyone has always said shes clumsy has bad balance etc. BUt she can run.
Anyway I was able to get a photo of Kaylens left foot. Raymond kept turning around when I tried to get a pic.
anyway Im wondering if it looks abnormal to you and if youd take them. Since she can walk and run I dont know if Id do something severe to fix it. But then raymond doesnt run well at all.

I think you should just take her in for peace of mind. I had to look at Gavin's because I didn't know what it was supposed to look like or what his looked like. That picture does look like it is turned more than Gavin's but honestly, I don't even know what is "normal" kwim. But again, peace of mind is worth a lot.
I too would take her in, but just for some reassurance, Koda's look a lot like that. I was worried about them. I finally asked the doc at his well child visit. Just REALLY flat feet. They don't bother him now, and his turn in like the picture. She said later in life he made need orthotics in his shoe, but until it bothers him to let it be.
She did recommend thicker sole shoes, and to avoid regular running shoes and flip flops. I'll be honest, he is still in normal sneakers for now.
Take her in. I would go to an ortho and not your pedi too. Anna had serious problems with her feet if you recall and she could walk and run on them with no problems and I kept wondering if they were okay but the pedi never said anything and finally I just asked and he was like OMG I can't believe I never noticed that. I felt horrible for never saying anything. She required casting and her one leg bone (tibia) is curved and you can tell but nothing can be done. Her feet are not completely normal now but as good as can be. But if you have a "feeling" something is wrong then take her in.
if it looks like he has 2 ankle bones on the inside - two bumps one on top of the other... then it is NOT a flat foot, its just a turning in and he probably will probably just need insoles. thats tim - not flat feet.
we were told not to get insoles until time was a bit older, i think he was about 6-7.
anywho, it obviously never has stopped him from doing anything physical.
but i would get it checked out just to be sure. you could ask your ped at the next doctors visit.
Take her to an ortho. Elizabeth has been for a similar reason and even though she could do things, she was a bit of a klutz. She did have inserts and right now we are trying to determine if we need them anymore. It made a big difference in her ability to run, jump, climb, etc. Even though she was running, it caused her to run in a way that was not as stable and caused her other balance and stability problems. This also can lead to other problems. She never had an xray, but just met with a pediatric specialist. He had her run and jump a couple of times and then measured her feet. He made her inserts on the spot. For Elizabeth it helped quickly. Inserts can be a bit of a pain, but they did make a big difference.
Just wanted to update a little. I took her to the ped yesterday. They gave her a referral to a pediatric orthopedic.
The ped definitely thought its a bone issue. She said that she has some weird thing at the lumbar of her foot and that it arches on the outside thats unusual. She also said her ankle had some instability and ended up checking her spine.
Im glad I took her in I just hope that it isnt as much of an issue as it seems in my head.
