Spiritual gifts for kids--

Some of you already saw me mention that Mark helped me make dinner the other night and was telling Glen about it, all proud. Henry piped up and said he helped too even though he didn't. Mark said, "No, he didn't!"

So I told the kids that it was okay that Henry didn't help. One of Mark's gifts is helping but Henry has other gifts. [Mark said, "Like watching TV and being stupid." Sweet brother.] But then I got to thinking about it and was having some trouble coming up with Henry's gifts. I mean, he's a great kid--well-behaved around all people but me, does his best at school.

Anyway, I found a spiritual gifts survey for kids online and printed 3 copies--one for Henry, one for Mark, and one for me to fill out with my opinions/responses of how I think my kids feel about each question.

Here's the link to the survey:

It's pretty short, and I thought it was interesting to see the results.

When I answered all the questions for Henry, the top scoring category was "Prophecy (or Perceiver)". When he answered the questions himself, that came in a close FOURTH. His top one was "Mercy (or Compassion)". I'm going to have to look through his answers because I found that highly doubtful. giggle.gif His top 4 categories were very close, however. [Mercy - 28, Serving - 26, Leadership (Administration) - 26, and Prophecy - 24]

I can TOTALLY see Leadership for him--with all of his pretend school stuff.

Oh, and here's a site that briefly (very briefly) talks about the potential uses of the results.

I filled out Mark's (without his input) last night, and "Service" came in a clear first. I forget what his other high scorers were. I'll have to look later.

Teaching was first followed by leadership and mercy. i thought mercy would be first. some questions i didnt see how they fit in certain categories though.
